Config tab bar v5 — grouped tabs (System | Dashboard | Extras | Help), compact save chrome, proportional group widths, Modern/Glass fused list surfaces and unified header chrome, cross-group keyboard navigation, compact breadcrumb, stronger active tab/group indicators; docs and Playwright coverage in EN/NL/DE/FR.

Config tab bar (v5)

  • new Tab groupsconfig-tab-groups.js organises tabs into System (General, Theme, Backups, Stats, Keyboard), Dashboard (Pages, Categories, Bookmarks), Extras (Tags, Finders, Collections), and Help. Group labels, active-group highlight, and Help styling at the end of the bar.
  • new Keyboard in SystemKeyboard shortcut reference lives under the System group instead of a loose tab at the end of the flat list.
  • new Proportional group width (C1)--config-tab-group-weight scales each group by visible tab count (5:3:3:1 on desktop); syncGroupFlexWeights() updates weights when phone layout hides groups.
  • fix Phone tab groups — ≤768px shows System + Help only; Dashboard and Extras groups are hidden via mobile-experience.js + syncGroupVisibility().

Config chrome (v5)

  • new Compact save stripconfig-actions-strip row: primary actions left, save-mode pill + status line right; slimmer padding tokens (--config-save-bar-padding-*, --config-toolbar-min-height).
  • fix Save-mode pill in save row#config-tab-save-mode moved from breadcrumb into the save row beside the status indicator.
  • fix Undo / Discard when dirty — top Undo and Discard buttons hidden until config-is-dirty; sticky save bar matches.
  • new Tab scroll hintconfig.tabScrollHint (more tabs →) on .tabs-scroll-wrapper when tabs overflow horizontally.
  • fix Shared page gridconfig-page-shell grid aligns header, save/tabs, and tab content to one column width.
  • fix Stronger active tab & group — thicker active tab border (Classic), inset accent stripe (Modern/Glass), active group background + label accent; Help group distinct styling.

Modern & Glass parity

  • fix Fused list-tab surfaces (B1)config-modern-glass-surfaces.css suppresses nested toolbar/list cards inside .config-tab-surface; theme list-card rules exclude .config-tab-surface * descendants. Tags cloud/list dividers inside the fused card.
  • fix Unified app chrome (C9) — on Modern/Glass, section-header + section-controls fuse into one card (top/bottom radius, single shadow on controls); inner cards on save row and tab bar removed. Selectors target .config-page-shell > .section-header/section-controls.

Keyboard & navigation

  • new Cross-group keyboard/ crosses group boundaries; Alt+←/Alt+→ jumps to first tab of prev/next group (getAdjacentTabAcrossGroups, getJumpTabForGroup). Documented on cheat sheet and Config → Keyboard → Config tab bar (fourth fixed section).
  • fix Compact breadcrumb — removed config / prefix; shows tab › context with smaller typography; save-mode pill no longer in breadcrumb row.

Developer & docs

  • new Playwright: config tab groups v5tests/config-tab-consistency.spec.js covers group rendering, active group highlight, phone visibility, proportional weights, chrome width alignment, bookmarks surface wrapper.
  • fix Playwright stabilisation — classic layout forced for surface-shadow test; width assertions use page column + ±3px tolerance; keyboard test expects four fixed sections.
  • fix Help tab (EN / NL / DE / FR)What's new recap adds v2026.07.01; Config → General documents tab groups, compact save chrome, fused Modern/Glass surfaces.
  • fix README & MANUAL — Config v5 tab bar section; keyboard table updated for group navigation; release references through v2026.07.01.

Cache-bust

  • fix Cache-bustwhats-new-v106 data version and 2026.07-dashboard-release-v85 dashboard release token; config-chrome-v5-5 on save-bar and related config bundles; config-tab-groups-weight-1 on config-tabs.css / config-tab-groups.js; config-v5-2 on surface imports in config.css.
