Widgets get a lot more to do: a Tabs widget, Clock and Countdown, duplicate, set times and days, and limits for disks and memory. Search answers sums, Config shows what you changed from the defaults, a page keeps a history of its layouts, Homepage, Dashy and Homer configurations can be imported, and the backdrops are redrawn one recipe per theme. A fresh install starts on Aurora Glass.
Widgets
- new — A Tabs widget. Several widgets in one tile, with a tab for each. Add it from the widget catalogue. Tabs are widgets of the same page; a tab that moves to another page leaves the Tabs widget.
- new — Clock and Countdown widgets. A clock for any time zone and a countdown to a date.
- new — Duplicate a widget. The widget's menu has a Duplicate entry that makes a copy with the same settings.
- new — Show a widget only on set times and days. Every widget type has a window of the day (it may run past midnight) and the days of the week. Both times or neither; all seven days is the same as no limit.
- new — Amber and red limits per disk and memory widget. Set where the figure turns amber and red, in percent used, so a full archive disk need not be red. A pair that makes no sense (red before amber) is ignored.
- new — Refresh now. The menu of media, Beszel, Home Assistant and custom widgets has a Refresh now.
- new — Uptime widget: response time of the last day.
Layout
- new — Layout history. nextDash keeps earlier arrangements of each page. Pick one in Config, see what restoring it would change, and restore it. A restore keeps what it replaces, so it can be undone. The history travels in the backup.
Search
- new — Search answers sums. Type
15% of 240,2+2*3or5 km in miand the answer is the top row; Enter copies it. Nothing leaves the browser and nothing is evaluated. A word, shortcut, date, phone number or range such as24/7is never taken for a sum. - new — Six more commands.
:news,:unsorted,:studio,:cloud,:legendand:hypr.
Config
- new — What you changed from the defaults. A list of every setting that differs from the default, and an Overview panel with the same list.
- new — Actions next to settings in Find settings. A found setting can be acted on from the result.
- new — Overview chips. Expiring certificates, failing widgets and a failed backup show up as chips.
- new — Data & backups says what can be imported. Cards name each kind of file.
- new — Import a Homepage, Dashy or Homer configuration.
- fix — Config no longer moves while a setting is saved. The page is held in place in any browser.
- fix — Config tours do not open over a section you have left.
- fix — "Nothing changed" says the right thing. The message of the What you changed list and the one on a settings tab shared a text key, so a tab said Every setting is at its default. Each has its own now.
Themes
- new — A backdrop recipe for every theme. Each backdrop pair, each Look and Ocean (its own sonar) has a recipe of its own, drawn in the theme's colours.
- new — A better backdrop picker. A short view, groups, search and thumbnails that load when you scroll to them. The backdrop settings sit with the backdrops in the theme studio.
- fix — The backdrop groups are in English. The groups in the backdrop picker (Patterns, Colour & glow, Fire & light, Nature & water, Sky & space, Materials, Paper & ink, Tech) were Dutch in every language; they are English now and translated in the other five.
- fix — The eight neutral themes draw their own backdrop. Neutral, Stone, Gray, Zinc, Slate, Chalk, Concrete and Black still pointed at an old shared recipe, so their new backdrops were never drawn.
- new — Aurora Glass is the default theme on new installs. Installs that already chose a theme keep it.
- new — Tag colours. Give a tag a colour; it shows in the tag cloud, the rows and the preview.
Rows
- new — Online/offline status is on again for new installs. Loading state and Ping times stay off. Installs that already have these settings keep them.
Watch feeds
- new — Statistics CSV includes the watched feed figures.
- new — The weekly digest is easier to read, with charts.
- fix — The news button shows only with an active feed and returns to the open article.
- fix — Saving a watch feed keeps the scroll position.
- fix — Clearer picker: Stop on the left, Save (in the accent) and Cancel (in the warning colour) on the right; the empty section explains itself.
Assistant
- new — Tables and leaner answers. The panel renders tables, and the assistant is asked for a shorter answer layout.
Docs
- docs — Config → Help and its tips are current. Help says fifty-one widget kinds and lists the new ones, 266 backdrops with the short picker, the new commands, sums in search, tag colours, importing a Homepage, Dashy or Homer configuration, layout history, What you changed and the Overview chips. Nine new tips cover the Tabs widget, set times and days, the widget menu with its limits, tag colours, sums, What you changed, layout history, importing another dashboard and the extra commands.
- docs — Translations. The v1.25.0 texts are in Dutch, German, French, Chinese and Spanish: all 202 new interface texts, the Help and the tips, and 47 texts that code asked for but
en.jsondid not have (the digest, the backdrop picker, six commands). - docs — MANUAL, README and the pictures. The manual and README describe every new feature, count 266 backdrops and fifty-one widget kinds, and say a fresh install starts on Aurora Glass. The manual and README pictures were retaken in Aurora Glass.
- docs — Config → Overview and About → News & features list five v1.25.0 features (new backdrops, Tabs/Clock/Countdown, layout history, search sums, what you changed and the import), in six languages.
- docs — Cheat sheet. The cheat sheet and its PDF have a row for the arrow keys,
HomeandEndin a Tabs widget. - docs —

The feature pages for widgets, search, Config, data, tags and themes show the new features with pictures; the theme gallery is retaken for all 192 families; the figures on the site are 266 backdrops and fifty-one widget kinds. About thirty wrong or stale sentences on the site were corrected (default theme, keys, tab names, chapter numbers, counts).
v1.24.2 — 2 November 2026
Config → Watch feeds gets tabs like the other sections, the news popover has its Reader button on a phone too, and a new install starts without row status. Held back from the What's new window (hideFromModal), so v1.24.0 keeps leading it.
Watch feeds
- new — Config → Watch feeds has two tabs. Feeds lists the watched feeds; Settings holds how their news reaches you (the check window, the news view, push). The tab you left on is remembered, the address follows it (
#config/feed-watch/settings), and the settings search sends a news setting to the Settings tab. Older links to the settings on the Bookmarks tab open it there too. - new — The Reader button in the news popover is on a phone too. Tap a row with news and the head of the popover shows Reader between the bar to the site and the cross, as on a computer. It opens the news window on that site alone.
Rows
- new — A new install starts without row status. Config → Appearance → Rows → Row status: Online/offline and Ping times are off by default now (Loading state already was), so a fresh dashboard shows rows as just their names. An install that already has these settings keeps them as they are; they are one click away for anyone who wants them.
Docs
- docs — The Help text of Watch feeds is current. It names the two tabs and the popover with its Reader button (on a computer and a phone), and gives the news view setting as Config → Watch feeds → Settings; all six languages.
- docs — The manual says so too. §14.4 describes the two tabs and §14.2 the Reader button on a phone, with retaken pictures. The new look is §17A, so Glances keeps §16A.
