Edit the dashboard in place, search that learns your hours, a checkup for what needs tidying, a reworked weekly digest and a guided way to add widgets. Every release held back from the What's new window since v1.20.2 (hideFromModal) is shown in it now, and nothing is flagged any more.

Edit mode

• new — Edit mode. DashboardEditMode (dashboard-edit-mode.js) is switched on by Shift + M when no bookmark row is selected (with a row selected the bookmark's own Shift + M, Move, still answers), by the pencil in the action bar, by :edit mode, or by Edit in panel… in the category and widget menus. While it is on a bar says so, a click selects a block instead of opening a bookmark, the grid's bare letters, arrows and Enter are taken, the preview card stays away and comes back after, and Esc leaves from the inside out (dialog, panel field, mode). Desktop only; a phone layout ends it. The pure key rules are in edit-mode-model.js.
• new — The panel. DashboardEditModePanel is a ListViewDrawer docked at the right like the views' panels, and the grid gives way with padding-right. A category: name, icon, width, view, sorting; a page: name, emoji, colour; a widget: name, width, state, and Settings…. Every change is saved as it is made; Esc in a text field gives the old text back; a category deleted elsewhere clears the panel; a save reloads the page first when d.categories no longer matches the server.
• new — A widget's sheet over the dashboard. openWidgetSheetOverDashboard opens the Config → Widgets sheet on the dashboard, restores Config's page filter, search and drafts when it closes, and counts as a modal for the dashboard's keys. The sheet joined the overlay theming (theme-overlays.css, BIG_LAYERS), so it is drawn like the other dialogs in every theme, in Config as well.
• new — The pencil is the tenth action button. showEditModeButton (on by default, also for old settings files), maxHeaderActions goes to 10, :maxactions offers 10, and the button carries its key for screen readers.
• new — A click on a block's title chooses the block and leaves it as it is. In the mode the capture handler stops the title's own click, which would otherwise fold the block and save that.
• new — The edit-mode button explains itself under Config → Appearance → Action bar (showEditModeButtonInfoTitle and showEditModeButtonInfoMessage in six languages), which tests/config-info-reset.spec.js asks of every setting with a default.
• new — A corner card introduces edit mode and Shift + M, once, no sooner than three minutes after the latest corner card (minGapAfterCardMs in NoticeCard, kept across loads), and the dashboard tour has a step for it.

Search

• new — Usually now. search-usually-now.js ranks bookmarks by opens within ±1.5 hours of the current time, on the same kind of day, over eight weeks (at least three), from each bookmark's openLog; it is the first group of the empty panel.
• new — Actions on a result. → unfolds open, open in a new tab, edit, copy address, show in the list and move under a bookmark result; ← or Esc folds them. Enter chords fold the open actions in the phone's input.

Checkup

• new — :checkup. checkup.js and checkup_structure.go walk dead links, duplicates, never-opened and stale bookmarks, empty categories and pages, and widgets that report an error, reusing the Bookmarks view's actions. dashboard-widget-state.js lets a widget report how it is doing. Deleting a category from the checkup, the menu or the panel goes through one finishCategoryDelete.
• fix — A page of uncategorised bookmarks is not an empty page. findEmptyStructure counted a page with no categories and no widgets as empty, bookmarks or not, so the checkup offered to delete a page that still held links.

Weekly digest

• new — Reworked. The digest is always on: the Config switch is gone and an old file that had it off is read as on. The window has a list of parts in three groups (Needs you, Tidy up, Good to know) beside a detail, with Close always in view; the corner card has Read the digest, Snooze 1 day and Got it with two reminders; the bar asks before it closes; a fresh install gets its first digest after at least seven days; not opened counts 30 days; and the checkup is a part of it.
• new — The week in figures. A row of figures along the top of the window: bookmarks opened, bookmarks added, uptime with its outages, and the Inbox with how many links are new, each next to the seven days before with ▲ or ▼ (green when it went the better way). digestWeek in the snapshot (buildDigestWeek in digest_build.go) counts opens from each bookmark's openLog, added from createdAt (the unsorted page left out), uptime pooled over the check history without maintenance samples, and outages from the samples that raised an alert; it follows the digest's own switches, and a figure with nothing behind it is left out of the snapshot and the window.
• new — An Overview, and detail behind every name. The window opens on an Overview with one line per part saying where it stands, each a way into that part. A broken link shows its page, since when it is down and the last check's message (brokenItems); the most opened show their counts (topOpenedItems); never opened shows the page (neverOpenedItems); not opened lately shows how long ago, longest first (staleItems); the Inbox says how long its oldest link has waited (inboxOldestDays). A snapshot from before keeps its chips (enrichParts in digest-notice.js). Covered by tests/digest-window.spec.js and the TestDigestWeek* and TestDigest*Items* tests.
• fix — Not opened lately leaves out a bookmark whose stale is ignored. The count now comes from the bookmarks rather than the Health report, and skipped the ignore the report applies.

Widgets

• new — The wizard. One list of widgets, connect and test an address or key before a media widget is added, a page picker for the add, and the old catalogue and Custom links open the same guide. The tour and manual describe it.
• new — Three sections in every widget's settings (what it shows, how it connects, where it sits). A section's default is stamped so only a real toggle is remembered, working inside a section pins it, and a media widget that fails to connect opens Connection and says so on its title.
• new — One card per widget in Config → Widgets with kind, state and page.
• fix — Widget cards keep their surface in flat themes.

Config

• new — Finders is a section of its own, and Fresh moves from Behavior to Bookmarks.
• new — The demo has a Glances host that answers in-process ("Tower").
• fix — The demo starts in a fraction of the time. capPoints in glances_history.go copied a whole history ring on every point, so seeding the Tower's seven days cost seconds of CPU at every start and every reset of the public demo, and more than thirty on a busy CI runner, where it timed out the demo server of tests/demo-analytics.spec.js. It reslices now: 4.0 s becomes 0.3 s on one CPU.

Inbox

• fix — Icons the outbound limit refused are fetched again. The startup icon backfill stamped a link as tried when the limit turned the request away, so on an Inbox larger than the limit the rest never got an icon. It now leaves those unstamped, as the add path already did.

Docs

• docs — static/data/whats-new/v1.22.4.json and its index entry; whats-new-stub.js moved to DASHBOARD_RELEASE v1.22.4 and whats-new-v357. hideFromModal is removed from every entry of the index, and tests/whats-new-hidden-release.spec.js now expects an empty list and every earlier release in the modal.
• docs — Config → Help (edit mode panel; digest, search, keyboard, header and health texts), Tips, Overview and About → News & features (four entries), the cheat sheet with its PDF regenerated, MANUAL.md, and the six locale files.
• docs — README.md and MANUAL.md describe edit mode, Usually now with result actions, the checkup and the weekly digest with its figures and Overview, with new shots (nextdash-edit-mode.jpg, nextdash-digest.jpg, 04-edit-mode*.jpg, 08-search-*.jpg, 12-checkup.jpg, 12-weekly-digest.jpg); every README shot that shows the action bar is retaken with the pencil as its tenth button (tests/readme-screenshots.spec.js, tests/manual-screenshots-v1-22-4.spec.js).
• docs — Help and the manual say which switch the digest's figures follow: uptime and outages stay with the broken links, while the opens, the added bookmarks and the Inbox go with Include most opened, unused and Inbox, in six languages (helpDigestBody).
• docs — Texts say "action bar" for the pencil (it is not in the header) and the digest's own group names, Needs you, Tidy up and Good to know, in Help, the manual, the What's new item and the five translations; two Dutch checkup labels are translated.
