The action bar's intro animation gets a choice of five styles, each shown on its own card in config. The dashboard loads faster — the theme stylesheet is cached instead of inlined, a view's lazy scripts are fetched side by side, and a page-wide restyle while the grid renders is gone — and icons that went missing come back.

Dashboard

• new — five ways for the action bar's buttons to come into view. Config → Appearance → The action bar → Animate the buttons as the bar appears is now a set of cards instead of an on/off switch: off, swell (left to right, from the middle, or together), unfold and accordion. Each card plays its own animation while it has the pointer or the focus, and a card you pick plays on the bar itself at once, without a reload. An install that had the animation on keeps it as swell (setting actionBarIntroStyle, action-bar-autohide.js).

Performance

• fix — the theme stylesheet is linked by the hash of its content instead of inlined. Inlining put ~600 KB into every HTML response and had it parsed on each load. templates/dashboard.html now links /api/theme.css?v=<hash> (themeCSSURL); a request carrying the current hash is served immutable for a year, anything else (a refresh after a theme change, a previewed backdrop roll) stays no-store. reloadThemeCSS in visual-settings.js swaps the link and still handles the inline form for a tab left open from before.
• fix — the theme stylesheet is rendered once per change on the server. Rendering walks every theme (331 blocks) and the page needs it twice per load, for the hash and for the fetch. themeCSSMemo keeps the last result, keyed by data revision and backdrop seed.
• fix — asset bundles are gzipped once per bundle, not once per request. The script bundle cost ~40 ms of gzip on every uncached load; ServeAssetBundle now keeps the compressed bytes per path and hash (gzippedBundle, default level — best was 0.4% smaller and half a second slower for the first visitor after a restart).
• fix — a view's lazy scripts are fetched side by side. The config and Health loaders run their scripts in order, and used to fetch them in order too: one round trip per file, a visible wait over a VPN. LazyScript.preloadScripts adds <link rel="preload"> for the whole chain; loadScriptOnce still runs them in the same order.
• fix — no more page-wide restyle while the grid renders. A .feed-row-actions:has(...) > * rule made Chrome restyle the whole page on every DOM change (16x the style work during render); feed-row.css lets the children out through the --feed-row-actions-child-overflow variable instead. The scroll lock's MutationObserver (scroll-lock.js) only re-checks when a batch touches a modal candidate, instead of forcing layout 36 times during load.

Icons

• fix — icon-set SVGs that are only a wrapped PNG are served as the set's PNG. The sanitiser turned them away, so the icon was a 404 and the row showed a letter. serveIconSetFile falls back to the .png of the same icon, and the index records which sets have one (iconSetEntry.PNG).
• fix — Inbox items whose icon file is gone fetch it again. An older cleanup removed icons while inbox.json could not be read; the items kept the name and every load asked for a missing file. inboxItemNeedsIconFetch now also picks up such items, and the startup backfill replaces the name, or clears it so the row shows its glyph.

Help and docs

• new — Config → Overview has a news item for the styles, Five ways for the buttons to come into view, dated v1.18.4 and opening Appearance → Action bar.
• docs — Help → Appearance names the styles on the Action bar tab, and MANUAL §4 has Buttons that come into view — the five styles, the playing cards, the pick that plays at once, when it plays and that reduced motion skips it; §16's tab line follows.
• docs — the Unraid template (templates/nextdash.xml) has the Inbox under Bookmarks → Unsorted and Health inside the Bookmarks view, in its feature list and its v1.18.3 changes, the same as the copy Community Applications reads.

Tests

• tests — internal/app/perf_cache_test.go covers the hashed theme link and its cache headers, the theme memo and the gzipped bundle cache; icon_sets_cache_test.go and inbox_icon_backfill_test.go cover the two icon fixes; tests/config-custom-themes.spec.js follows the linked stylesheet.
• tests — tests/action-bar-autohide.spec.js plays each style on the bar, picks a card in config and checks its drawing plays on hover and that a second pick plays on the bar without a reload; the setting off draws no intro. internal/app/settings_action_bar_test.go keeps the five styles, turns anything else off, and moves v1.18.3's switch to swell.
