github jordibrouwer/nextdash v1.11.8

Settings groups back in tiles, and the Glass depth trading its white light for the theme's own colour — held back from the What's new window (hideFromModal) like v1.11.1–v1.11.7, so v1.11.0 keeps leading it.

Config

  • fix — Appearance and Behavior drew every settings group as one flat list. v1.11.6 put both sections on tabs and had config-tabs.css strip the box off each .config-panel: no border, no surface, no radius, a hairline underneath and the panel title reduced to a small muted heading. On a tab carrying eighteen settings nothing marked where one group ended, and a border is exactly the "separate object" cue a group of settings wants. The flattening rules are gone, so the tile comes from .config-panel in config-view.css and from theme-depth.css / theme-character.css as it does everywhere else in config — which is also why a custom theme now restyles these tiles without knowing about config-tabs.css. The column, the preview beside Appearance and the tighter spacing under a field hint stay.

Themes

  • fix — the Glass depth lit its surfaces instead of letting you see through them. Three layers stacked: --glass-brightness raised the backdrop by six per cent on every pane, --edge-top and --edge-side are written as a percentage times --theme-depth and glass sets that to 1.5 (so a 16% line landed at 24%), and on a theme with sheen the gloss painted white at up to 20% across the head of each surface. Together a column of tiles read as a column of lighter boxes. Now, at data-depth="glass" only: brightness 1.06 → 1.012, the saturate() on the backdrop 1.4 → 1.8 through the new --glass-saturate (it was hard-coded in twelve places), the lit edges from 16%/10% to 7%/5% before the multiplier and their sheen term from 30% to 8%, and --surface-gloss redefined at about a third of its strength in --glass-gloss-lightcolor-mix(accent 45%, white) rather than white. On Gloss Obsidian [dark] (sheen 0.9) that is a top edge of 21% instead of 64%, and a gloss band of 7% instead of 20%. Every theme on Glass is affected, and every surface: the config tiles, the modals, the search window and the card layouts.

Tests

  • fix — config-bookmarks-panel.spec.js placed a caret with the End key, which on macOS scrolls rather than moving the caret inside a text field. The click before it left the caret mid-word, the tag was typed into the middle of the value, and the spec failed on macOS while passing on Linux CI. The caret is set with setSelectionRange; the typing stays real, since the draft has to be dirty and uncommitted when the next row is clicked.

Docs

  • docs — static/data/whats-new/v1.11.8.json and its index entry, flagged hideFromModal; whats-new-stub.js's NEXTDASH_WHATS_NEW_DATA_VERSION moved to whats-new-v294, DASHBOARD_RELEASE untouched. tests/whats-new-hidden-release.spec.js now pins v1.11.8 alongside v1.11.1–v1.11.7. go generate refreshed asset_hashes_gen.go.
