Overview news, shorter news dates and two Health row-menu fixes, held back from the What's new window (hideFromModal) like v1.11.1–v1.11.4, so v1.11.0 keeps leading it.

new — the two newest nextdash.cc posts above the overview tiles.
renderOverviewSiteNews()takes the site posts from the stream About → News & features already loads (loadNewsStream), newest two, and draws them as a "Latest news" tile — the samestat-tile config-tileclasses as the figures under it — one line each: title, clipped summary, date, and a link to the post. Nothing is drawn while it loads, when "Show posts from nextdash.cc" is off, or when the feed is unreachable. "Latest news" translated in all six locales. -
fix — the overview's intro line showed twice once the news arrived.
_fillShellHeadFromSection()lifts a section's.config-view-introinto the header band, butrepaintOverview()— the repaint the news arrives with — re-rendered the body without lifting it again, so the sentence stood in the band and above the tiles. The repaint lifts it now. -
fix — news dates say which day. Overview and About → News & features used the header's full date line, so under "weekday only" every row read "Friday".
formatShortDate()gives day and month in the reader's date format —18/09,18-09,09/18,09-18; the two word formats follow the interface language — with the year only when it isn't this one. -
About → News & features: the way in moved under the summary. "Read on nextdash.cc ↗", "Show what's new" and "Open … →" have their own line under the summary, in the title's column, rather than under the date at the far right; the summary now runs to the right edge.

fix — the release What's new opens on dropped out of About → News & features. The stream shows the newest five releases (
RELEASES_IN_STREAM), and five hidden patch releases (v1.11.1–v1.11.5) filled it, pushing out v1.11.0 — the release the modal still leads with.buildStream()now always adds the newest release not flaggedhideFromModal. Caught byconfig-overview-release.spec.json CI. -
fix — the first keys typed after leaving config could be lost. When a setting had just been changed,
closeConfigView()waits for its save before bringing the grid back; until then the view still read as config and the control just changed still held focus, so>and the start of a query went nowhere — under load, whole words. It now marks the dashboard as leaving (_leavingConfig, which search's view guards read) and lets go of that focus straight away; the grid still waits for the save. Found throughconfig-server-log-level.spec.json CI, where a search typed aszzz-search-onarrived ason; reproduced locally under CPU throttling.
Health
- fix — a row's menu pinned itself to the top of the viewport. When a tall menu (many repair options) had no room above or below its row,
toggleMenu()'s fallback set it flush against the top margin wherever the row was, drawing it over the header and everything down to the row. It now clamps toward the row, aspositionMenuAtPoint()already did for right-click. - fix — the sticky header band drew over an open row menu.
.lvs-header's z-index was lifted by 1300 to clear the teaching popovers, while a row with an open menu stayed at--layer-row-raised(6). The row now sits one above the header while its menu is open (feed-row.css).
Tests
config-overview-news.spec.jscovers the overview tile, the intro not repeating (with the posts held back so they arrive by repaint), and the short dates;overview-news-row.spec.jsasserts the new row shape;health-menu-height.spec.jsandhealth-row-menu-stacking.spec.jseach gained a regression case, both confirmed failing without their fix.
