github jordibrouwer/nextdash v1.11.1

latest release: v1.11.2

Corrections to v1.11.0, and the specs brought up to the header, the tile hub and the new defaults it shipped with. Held back from the What's new window (hideFromModal), so v1.11.0 keeps leading it.

Dashboard

  • fix — the corner cards have buttons again. Dropping the first-run setup window (8e011f63) took the .quickstart-btn rules with it, and NoticeCard still draws every card's actions with that class — Fresh, the tour of what moved, clock and weather, and the analytics and theme-browser notices, which build theirs by hand. Each fell back to the browser's own grey buttons. The rules are back in dashboard-quickstart.css, beside .notice-card-actions.
  • fix — a card's primary button and a finished quick-start step are drawn in the page's colour on the accent, not in white. White on a light accent fell under 2:1 — 2.1 on Tarnished Brass, the new default — and under 3:1 on 111 of 242 themes. --background-primary is what every other filled accent button uses, and it clears 3:1 on all of them.
  • fix — the filter bar lies over the grid it filters. With packed columns off the grid is a fixed number of fixed-width columns centred in the container, and the bar spanned the container: in a 1500px window it stood 90px left of the rows and 180px wider than them. dashboard-grid-filter.js measures the grid and hands the width and offset to the stylesheet as custom properties.
  • fix — * and / work whether or not their buttons are on screen. Switching the tag-cloud button off took the tag cloud with it, so / fell back to the search panel's tag mode; the setting now only decides whether the button is drawn (dashboard-tag-cloud.js, dashboard-toolbar.js, search.js).
  • fix — Escape stays inside an open widget or category menu. Menus from the shared _openMenu builder carry bookmark-context-menu only as a class, so the check by id missed them: the menu closed itself, and the key went on to _escapeFallback(), which opened search a tick later (keyboard-navigation.js).
  • fix — the page overview opens with its cursor on the page you are on. .focus() ran while the overlay was still visibility: hidden and did nothing, so AppModal's own deferred pass focused the first row; the modal now places the cursor once it is on screen (dashboard-ui-helpers.js).

Config

  • fix — a hub tile names a setting once. The form's labels end in their own colon, so the summary printed Weather location:: Leiden and 3 columns per row: · Compact. config-hub.js strips a trailing colon (full-width included) before composing the line, and the time format is named in front of its value: its options are examples, and 23:59 on its own read as a clock stuck at one minute to midnight.

Search & commands

  • fix — :rows and :highlight are two commands again. search-commands.js had two methods called handleRowHighlightCommand; the second replaced the first, so :rows never ran its own code and both words reached the older one. Each has a name of its own now, and both set the row highlight.

Health & Inbox

  • fix — the header band is opaque, at rest and once scrolled. Rows passed visibly behind it on glass themes, which its own comment said should not happen (list-view-shell.css).

Browser extension

  • fix — the extension's bookmark form shows a row's status colour like the app does. The preview read an absent setting as off; it is !== false now, like its neighbours (bookmark-form-preview.js).

Docs

  • docs — the specs follow the one-row header, the tile hub and the v1.11.0 defaults. Every spec gets a window wide enough to show the header's destinations, and the ones that need a narrow window open Health and the Inbox by key rather than by a link that has folded away. Waits were added for what a spec reads next — a whole command, an underline that fades in, the group a field sits in.
  • docs — the CI shards are sized by measured speed, not test count, and the shard weights went again once the slowness they answered turned out to be a timeout. The manifest spec stopped racing its neighbours for one settings file, and the widget-drift specs keep a window their page still scrolls in.
  • docs — regression specs for this release. config-hub.spec.js checks the tile summaries for a doubled or dangling colon and a named time format; dashboard-fresh-notice.spec.js checks that a card's buttons are drawn by the card, with page-coloured ink on the accent. Both fail against v1.11.0.
  • docs — new README screenshots, taken from v1.11.0 with demo data. The ten PNGs in screenshots/ showed a real install on a teal theme from before the one-row header; eight JPGs replace them — dashboard, search, inbox, health, monitoring, the bookmark workbench, the config tiles and the Gloss themes — shot at 1920×1200 on Tarnished Brass from a data directory of public sites only. Statistics, the cheat sheet and the separate widgets shot are gone (the widgets stand on the dashboard shot now); the workbench and the config tiles are new. Each has a few lines of description under it in README.md, and the Unraid template (templates/nextdash.xml) points at the same eight files.
  • docs — static/data/whats-new/v1.11.1.json and its index entry, flagged hideFromModal; whats-new-stub.js is untouched, so the window does not reopen for it. tests/whats-new-hidden-release.spec.js pins v1.11.1 as held back and v1.11.0 as leading. go generate refreshed asset_hashes_gen.go.
