AerioTV 0.5.9
Movies & TV Shows
- Your whole library. The 40,000 title cap is gone. The catalog is stored on the device as it loads, resumes where it left off after a restart, and never loads the whole library into memory, so very large libraries work on low-memory boxes.
- Loading runs faster while the Movies or TV Shows tab is on screen, with an Updating indicator while the count grows.
- Fixed a bug that made the app re-download the entire library on every launch, which could exhaust memory on a large library (likely the cause of the Shield crash in #112).
Playlists
- Switching playlists no longer clears the previous playlist's guide or library, so switching back is instant.
- Permissions refresh the moment you switch playlists.
- Only the active playlist is contacted; saved but inactive playlists sit idle.
- Refresh Everything now clears and rebuilds the active playlist's library from scratch.
- The selected playlist is marked immediately after switching.
Guide
- Channel column: the channel number, favorite star and catch-up icon sit in a band above the logo, and the logo fills the space below it. Turning numbers or names off gives the logo more room.
- Season and episode moved from the guide cells to the program details line.
- Guide preview art now picks the same image as the Apple app.
- Rounded corners are separate toggles for List view and Guide view in Settings > Appearance, and guide artwork follows the Guide toggle.
Android TV
- The List view is retired on TV. Live TV always opens the Guide, and its options live under Guide Presentation in Settings > Appearance. Default Live TV View is hidden.
- Fixed the interface running off the screen after a resolution switch on the Google TV Streamer with Match Content Resolution on (#113).
Player
- Switching streams on a slow provider no longer freezes the picture while audio continues.
Other
- Crash reports are now captured automatically and included in the debug log export, even with logging off.
- The Jump to Day calendar button was removed from the Live TV bar; long press the clock to jump.
Note: this version updates the on-device database. Going back to 0.5.8 requires uninstalling first.
