What's new in 0.4.5

A hotfix for two server-communication defects reported after 0.4.4.

Fixed

  • The guide could sit empty with the sync indicator spinning forever,
and app storage could grow past several gigabytes.
    Pulling extra
catch-up history from your server's own EPG sources was added in 0.4.3
and ran with no time limit, so on a server whose upstream guide feeds
are large or slow the guide load never finished. That extra history is
now strictly budgeted: at most three sources, 90 seconds each, three
minutes for the whole phase, and it never blocks the guide you asked
for. Your own custom XMLTV URL is still fetched first and is not
budgeted, since that is guide data you configured rather than a bonus.
  • Abandoned downloads are now cleaned up. Force-stopping the app
mid-download used to leave the partial file behind forever. Temp files
older than an hour are removed at launch, and the space reclaimed is
    logged.
  • Channel, group, and guide lists were truncated to the first page on
    some Dispatcharr deployments.
    Servers that return a paginated
response without honoring a page query parameter had every list cut
short. The client now follows the pagination cursor to the end.
  • A hung guide load could wedge every later attempt. The in-flight
guard is now released on timeout, and a genuine cancellation is no
longer misreported as a guide failure.
  • Channels using Dispatcharr's dummy EPG showed only placeholders.
Dispatcharr writes generated dummy programmes with a slightly different
timestamp format than regular ones, and the app rejected it, so those
rows were dropped on the way into the guide. Both formats are now
accepted. Partially addresses #53; the remaining parts of that report
    are still open.
