AerioTV 0.2.8
Fix: black screen with audio on live TV
- Fixed several independent causes of a channel playing sound over a black screen: a decoder that goes video-dead when reused across a channel switch, a recreated player that was never reattached to the screen, and a background media connection that could silently turn the video track off.
- The player now also watches for the condition itself: if a stream is playing but no video frame has appeared within a few seconds, AerioTV reloads the stream and, if needed, rebuilds the player. A channel that starts black recovers on its own instead of needing an app restart.
Fix: the channel you pick is the channel that plays
- Selecting a channel immediately after switching groups could start the first channel of your playlist instead of the one you chose. The player no longer falls back to the first channel when it cannot find the selected one yet; it waits for the list and plays the right channel.
Google Drive sync: clearer controls and a safety guard
- Settings > Sync now has explicit "Push Config to Drive" and "Pull Config from Drive" buttons, each with a confirmation. The combined Sync Now button is gone, so every manual sync states its direction.
- A fresh install can no longer overwrite your Drive backup before it has pulled once. This closes the case where signing in on a blank device replaced a good backup with an empty one.
Update check at launch
- Sideloaded builds now check for a new release when the app starts, in addition to the periodic check. Play builds are unaffected.
Other improvements
- Channel numbers up to five digits now display fully in the guide instead of being cut off.
- Settings > Developer: "Delete All Logs" replaces "Clear Log File" and removes rotated archive logs too, with a total-size readout.
Updater note: if you installed 0.2.4 or newer from GitHub, AerioTV will offer this update automatically, or check manually in Settings > App Updates. Your channels, settings, and recordings are kept.
Play Store note: if you installed AerioTV from Google Play, uninstall it before sideloading this APK. Play builds are signed with a different key, so Android will refuse to install this APK over a Play install (and a Play update over a sideloaded install). Uninstalling clears local data; if Google Drive sync is enabled, your playlists and settings restore on next sign-in.
