A large Android TV polish release: new onboarding screens, an Apple TV matched Settings redesign, a UHD live TV smoothness fix, and a big batch of EPG accuracy and focus/navigation improvements. Both GitHub issues filed since v0.1.6 are addressed.
New screens
- Splash now plays the same intro clip used by the Apple TV and iOS apps, with the cyan glow treatment.
- Welcome screen reworked to the tvOS layout and density.
- New "Setting Up" staged loading screen (Loading EPG / VOD / DVR / preferences) shown during a slow first sync.
Player
- UHD live TV judder fix: the player measures the broadcast frame rate and matches your panel's refresh rate (for example 50fps content on a 60Hz panel), the same approach the Apple TV app uses.
- New live stall watchdog that re-primes a frozen live stream automatically.
- Android TV player chrome rebuilt in the tvOS style: bottom Options / Record / Add Stream pills plus a top-left channel card.
Live TV Guide
- Fixed the timeline jumping to the end of an oversized programme when navigating (GH #5).
- Guide opens with "now" about 20% in from the left for steadier D-pad navigation.
- tvOS matched axis labels, corner clock, cell fills, and rounded group and control pills.
Settings
- Every Settings sub-screen rebuilt with tvOS-style per-row focus cards and On/Off indicators (App Behaviors, Appearance, Network, Sync, DVR, Multiview, Developer).
- D-pad can now escape a focused slider on Android TV.
- On-screen back buttons removed across Settings on Android TV (use the remote Back button).
- Added a Request Timeout selector in Network.
EPG accuracy and performance
- De-duplicate same-airing programmes when grouping.
- Canonical channel matching across tvg-id, channel number, and UUID.
- Custom XMLTV layered on top of the Dispatcharr grid.
- Cached programmes window-filtered by your EPG Window preference.
- Concurrent guide loads coalesced; background refresh interval is user-pickable.
- Dispatcharr current-programs and bulk-upcoming fallbacks; Refresh EPG purges stale rows.
- Rolling prefetch as the guide nears the cached edge.
On Demand
- Per-playlist On Demand enable toggle and per-group hide filter.
- Much faster loading on large Xtream libraries; smaller centered pills on TV.
Other fixes
- Onboarding form behind the keyboard on Android TV: tentative fix, feedback welcome (GH #1).
- D-pad highlight now follows rounded corners instead of drawing a square.
- Multiview exits with the Back button; removed the touch-only drag handle.
- Fixed long-press Delete on the Settings playlist row.
- No forced refresh-rate switch on open, which removes a black-screen flash on some panels.
- Cold-launch performance improvements and debug-logging fixes.
