AppDaemon backend deprecated
The AppDaemon backend is now deprecated. The NSPanel Lovelace UI Home Assistant add-on is the recommended backend for new installations and migration.
Existing AppDaemon installations can continue to run, and the legacy documentation remains available. To migrate, install the add-on and use Import YAML to import your apps.yaml.
Review migration warnings before saving: some legacy settings, including brightness schedules, require manual changes. Stop the AppDaemon NSPanel app before applying the same panel topics in the new backend.
Updated documentation
The documentation now focuses on the new backend, including installation, web configuration, YAML migration, and troubleshooting. AppDaemon instructions are preserved in a clearly marked legacy section.
