New Features
DSVita Support
- The default and recommended ROM directory is
ux0:data/dsvita. - To configure game settings in DSVita, press triangle on the game a couple of times in RetroFlow, and select "Configure game in DSVita".
- You may need to re-select your startup game start category as a new system has been added.
User Interface
- Holding the D-pad can now be used to scroll quickly through games and menus.
- Battery charging icon added.
- Smooth scrolling added to the horizontal 2D flat cover view.
Game Images
- PSP: New artwork setting to 'Extract PSP backgrounds'. When enabled, PSP game background images will be taken from ISO and CSO files and shown instead of game screenshots.
- Vita: Missing game background images and app icons are now copied to the
appmetafolder and displayed on demand. - Homebrew: More background images are displayed for homebrew apps using their
bg.pngorbg0.pngfiles. - PICO-8: Game backgrounds are now created on demand using the cart image.
Random Game Selection
- Press D-pad Up when viewing games, or if viewing games in the list view press D-pad Right, then select 'Random Game'.
- The game won't launch automatically, so you can select another random game until you see something you want to play.
Improvements
- Faster loading time.
- Faster game scanning (the first scan may be a little slow, after that it will be faster).
- Single cover/background downloads with CRC on don’t trigger a full artwork download anymore as CRC file calculations are now native.
- Better file sizes on game information screen (improved units, cleaner decimals, and rounding).
- Vita and Homebrew app version numbers aren't read from the cache anymore, so the app version number on the game information screen is always up-to-date.
Removed
- ONElua functions: RetroFlow now uses its own custom build of Lua Player Plus for PSVITA. Thanks and credit to the Lua Player Plus Vita plus team, Rinnegatamante, and also cy33hc for vita launcher and copyicons. The experience of using the app should feel a lot more seamless as previous external functions are now native.
- 'Extract PS Vita backgrounds' and 'Extract PICO-8 backgrounds': these are now native and on demand, no setting needed.
- Legacy artwork downloader from the original HexFlow: My downloader is faster and more visual.
