• Add support for Python 3.15.
• Many checkout, reset, pull and merge fixes: honour .gitattributes (including in subdirectories) and line-ending conversion, handle file/directory swaps, keep merge state consistent, and stop pull from dropping local commits or leaving HEAD moved on refusal.
• Sparse checkout fixes: patterns now match git's semantics, excluded paths stay out of the working tree and out of status, and emptied directories are removed.
• Fix a race where GitFile.close() could remove another writer's lockfile.
• Much improved LFS support: working lfs_fetch/lfs_pull/lfs_push with git-lfs semantics, proxy/TLS settings honoured for uploads, filter.lfs.required and GIT_LFS_SKIP_SMUDGE support, consistent LFSError exceptions, and rejection of non-HTTP transfer URLs.
• Raise MemoryError/ApplyDeltaError for bogus delta sizes rather than aborting.
• Faster porcelain.status (especially on Windows) and porcelain.add.
