Release Notes

Added

  • Windows binaries. Releases now carry x86_64-pc-windows-msvc alongside the
two macOS targets and Linux x86-64, plus shell and PowerShell installers and
a source archive, all with checksums.

aarch64-pc-windows-msvc is deliberately absent: ring, reached through
ureq's TLS, does not build for it. musl is absent for the same reason. The
binary is built rather than exercised — nothing in mirador is Unix-specific
and its dependencies are cross-platform, but that is a claim about compiling,
not about behaving, and only the first has been checked.

Changed

  • .github/workflows/release.yml is generated by cargo dist and is no longer
hand-edited; it is build output. The tag-versus-manifest check and the
prerelease detection added a release ago are gone from it because dist
provides both natively, and archive names lose their embedded version
    (mirador-aarch64-apple-darwin.tar.gz).

dist init also wanted [profile.dist] lto = "thin", which would have
quietly undone the lto = true the release profile has always had. That
override is removed, so the binaries do not get slower for changing how they
    are packaged.
