v0.22.2 - Battery Dispatch: Use at Your Own Risk

  • docs(v1r): battery dispatch is now clearly marked use at your own risk in README, API.md and the dispatch_battery_power() docstrings. A dispatch takes direct control of the battery through an undocumented Tesla command and overrides the backup reserve and grid export settings, and we don't know whether incorrect use could damage a home, a Powerwall system or the grid. The docstring no longer says it "does not change backup reserve" without saying the reserve is ignored while a dispatch runs. Each accepted dispatch is now logged at WARNING (action, watts, duration). Paired with pypowerwall-server's PW_BATTERY_DISPATCH opt-in (jasonacox/pypowerwall-server#185). (#446)
  • Library version bumped to 0.22.2
