Complete guide: MAC.md
New in v0.1.0
The first Mac version: Sega Rally Championship, the 1995 arcade game, native on Macs with Apple Silicon (M1 and newer), macOS 12 or newer. Nothing to install. The Mac guide.
- 120 fps on ProMotion screens, up to 240 fps, every arcade frame shown evenly.
- Far sharper than the arcade: your screen's native resolution, up to twice that with supersampling.
- The community HD texture pack by Jean-seb, found and imported by itself from your Downloads folder.
- A settings panel full of features: resolution, frame rate, pacing, picture format, gamepad stick tuning, the Sega Rally mods, picture styles, ten languages.
- Keyboard and any gamepad (Xbox, PlayStation, 8BitDo...), remappable.
- Record your races with F9: 60 fps video with the game's sound, encoded by the Mac's media engine. Recording needs ffmpeg (Homebrew:
brew install ffmpeg). - In-app updates: from the next version on, the game shows what's new and updates in one click (SHA-256 checked, the previous version kept).
- Online leaderboard on the Port0r Discord.
- Crash log, off by default (Settings > Game).
Download Port0r-SegaRally-Mac-v0.1.0.tar.gz below and open it: you get Port0r Rally.app. macOS asks once at the first launch (no paid Apple certificate): on macOS 15 and newer, open System Settings > Privacy & Security and click Open Anyway; on macOS 12 to 14, right-click the app > Open. Details in the Mac guide.
Free. You bring your own game files (MAME 0.289): srallyc.zip and segabill.zip in your Downloads folder, never included. Tested on a MacBook Pro M1 Pro: on other Macs, tell us how it runs on the Discord.
Port0r takes all my time right now. If you'd like to keep it going, you can sponsor it on GitHub Sponsors or buy me a coffee on Ko-fi. Sharing it helps a lot too.
