Port0r: Daytona USA VR v0.2.0

latest release: scud-v0.1.7

Complete guide: install guide

New in v0.2.0

  • Daytona has a cockpit now. It's one more view: switch views with the view button and you're sitting in a NASCAR stock car, with its roll cage and its gauges all around you, and its steering wheel, with the Port0r 0 on its hub, turning with yours. Every race starts in it.
  • Force feedback on a Logitech wheel, plugged straight into the headset. No PC needed: the wheel pulls back to the centre in the corners and kicks on every knock, driven by the cabinet's own wheel board, just like at the arcade. You can set how hard it pushes in Wheel > Force feedback.
  • In Settings > Cockpit you can raise or lower the car, slide your seat to the left or right, and bring the counters closer or push them further away.
  • The stick's steering is yours to tune in Settings > Game: how far the wheels turn, the dead zone, and a linear or progressive response.
  • The game is louder by default, like every Port0r game from now on, and the volume goes up to 130 % if you want even more.
  • Brightness is a slider in the Image tab, from 0 to 100 %.

Update from inside the game: Daytona USA VR offers it at launch, shows what's new, then Download and install from the headset.

Port0r is free. It takes all my days, and often more: if you like it, a little help on GitHub Sponsors or Ko-fi is very welcome. Sharing it helps a lot too.
