I'm excited to announce support for Crunchyroll Anime Awards! This release adds automatic detection and badging for anime that have won Crunchyroll Anime Awards from 2017-2025.

Crunchyroll Awards Detection: Automatically detects anime winners using TMDb ID matching and title variants
Multi-Color Support: Crunchyroll badges available in all color schemes (black, gray, red, yellow)
Settings Integration: Fully integrated into the web interface with easy enable/disable
High Priority: Crunchyroll awards have High priority in the award hierarchy
Test Coverage: Comprehensive test suite included for validation

How to Use

Enable in Settings: Go to Settings → Awards → Award Sources
Select Crunchyroll: Check "Crunchyroll Anime Awards"
Choose Color Scheme: Pick your preferred badge color
Process Anime: Awards will be automatically detected and applied

Technical Details

Detection Method: Primary TMDb ID matching with title fallback
Data Source: Enhanced Crunchyroll awards database with TMDb integration
Badge Position: Flush bottom-right corner positioning
Compatibility: Fully backward compatible with existing awards

Installation

If upgrading from a previous version:

  1. Pull the latest changes
  2. Restart the Aphrodite service
  3. Navigate to Settings → Awards to configure Crunchyroll

Testing

Run the integration test to verify everything is working:

Contributing

The Crunchyroll awards database is based on the enhanced JSON format with TMDb integration. If you notice any missing anime or incorrect detections, please open an issue with the anime title and TMDb ID.
