VW Group Connect v4.7.11

Home Assistant integration for Audi · VW · Škoda · SEAT · CUPRA · Porsche · VW US/CA.

What's new in this release / Was ist neu in diesem Release

Fixed

  • vw.de: colour, model and the exterior pictures no longer vanish when the live web reads are refused.
Those three come only from the vw.de channel. When VW refuses the channel's live reads for a car, the
read aborted before the calls that fetch them, and a poll that brought nothing new wiped the values
already shown. They are now fetched on their own even when the live reads are walled, kept as
last-known values across empty polls (they don't change for a car), and the log names which vw.de
read was refused and with which status — so the next capture says what VW actually serves
(#465, thanks @toglo for both logs).
  • vw.de debug lines now mask the VIN inside request paths. A second pattern with the same name
had shadowed the URL masker, so the path VIN slipped through into debug logs (the JSON-body masking
was unaffected). Found while adding the line above.
  • "Closures secured" no longer flips to false on a closed bonnet/tailgate. VW's bonnet and tailgate
"safe state" values don't follow the door polarity (a live capture shows 3 while closed); the
aggregate now uses the three door fields only.
  • Diagnostics show the vw.de channel's read outcomes. The vw.de charging/maintenance reads record
their status, and the connector's outcomes are exported even before the first read — the table a
reporter asked for was never wired (#1313, thanks @realynot).
  • The portal's heading value finally has a sensor. 4.7.6 parsed the heading that arrives next to
    persLocation on MEB portal cars, and its release note said it came through as a sensor — it didn't;
there was no entity. Heading (degrees, disabled by default) now exists (#1378, thanks @Laurentwb).
  • Options help text for the EU Data Act auto-kickoff said "opt-in, off by default" — it has been on by
    default since v2.17.1.
Corrected in all 13 languages; taken literally, the old text could talk you into
switching off the very thing that creates your data request.
  • SEAT/CUPRA probe script: a host name that doesn't exist no longer reads as "unreachable from you".
mal.prd.ece.vwg-connect.com was only ever a token audience, not a host (NXDOMAIN at VW's own
nameserver); the probe dropped it and now tells a DNS miss apart from a connection failure instead of
blaming the reporter's network (#306, thanks @goncal for the three-resolver check).
  • CONTRIBUTORS.md caught up: 18 reporters credited in the 4.7.x notes were missing from the list.
  • CUPRA/SEAT browser-login entries: the portal fallback now says why it can't sign in. The 4.7.10
automatic EU Data Act portal fallback signs in with the stored e-mail + password — an entry set up
with the browser login stores none, so the sign-in failed silently and readings stayed empty with only
the "arming" line in the log. The doomed attempt is skipped and the log now names the fix (Configure →
"Add or refresh the EU Data Act portal read channel"); a failed portal sign-in is logged too (#306,
    D#1415).

Added

  • Portal feed health shows how much of VW's export actually carries values. VW's EU Data Act
export can deliver field names with timestamps but no value at all (a Tiguan III export: 10 fields,
3 with values). The portal-feed-health sensor now reports the fields with values, the count of
fields delivered without one, and their names — so "ok" no longer reads as "complete" when it isn't
(#465, thanks @BooM80 for reproducing it in VW's own export).
  • Scout feed: ErrorReason now feeds a diagnostic Error Reason Code sensor (disabled by default,
    raw code, "0" = no error) (#1421, thanks @skornehl).
  • vw.de: opt-in re-login with the stored password when the web session dies. Off by default. When
the silent session resume fails and you've switched it on, the integration signs in once with your
stored password (at most every 15 minutes); if VW asks for an e-mail code it stops there without
submitting anything and the usual re-add-with-code path applies. Mirrors what the other volkswagen.de
    project does, kept opt-in because a fresh sign-in can trigger one e-mail code (#465, #632, #966).
  • Portal readings say how fresh they are. Sensors fed by the EU Data Act feed carry
data_captured_at, freshness_source and ambiguous_reading attributes (the last one flags a
reading whose candidates disagreed under one capture time) — no per-poll churn, no new entities
    (#465, #529, #1218).
  • Departure timers can carry charging, climatisation, target battery % and a one-off date. The
set_departure_timer service accepts the extra fields; they are sent on the CARIAD path only for
entries in the test cohort until one live capture confirms the field names, and ignored otherwise.
  • Connected-services breakdown. The subscription diagnostic sensor lists each connected service
with its expiry and status as attributes (capped), not just the earliest expiry.
  • vw.de cars: the side/¾ render becomes the vehicle picture, and the (static) model name and
    render list are cached for 24 h / 6 h instead of being re-fetched every poll (#1229).
  • Porsche: charging power on newer cars (chargingPowerkW, the legacy field reads 0 on a 2026 Macan
Electric) and the climatiser target temperature now feed their sensors.
  • Seven ready-made automation blueprints — charge complete, low battery, door/window/trunk left open
while away, pre-heat before departure, service due, tyre-pressure warning, parking position changed —
under Settings → Automations → Blueprints; notifications were the most-requested thing across every
car integration's tracker, and the data was already there.
  • Named triggers and conditions can target one car. An optional vin (or the car's device) scopes
the experimental named triggers/conditions; unset keeps today's account-wide behaviour.
