VW Group Connect v4.7.1

Home Assistant integration for Audi · VW · Škoda · SEAT · CUPRA · Porsche · VW US/CA.

What's new in this release / Was ist neu in diesem Release

A from-the-ground-up pass on Porsche, grounded against a full read-through of the real app's own
code (not just a reference library) plus a live login test on a real account (#1337).

Fixed

  • Porsche login gets further than before. The password login was giving up whenever Porsche's
identity provider rendered a page instead of redirecting, assuming it was an unsolvable captcha.
On a real account it turned out that step is often just an optional "set up a passkey?" screen —
the integration now declines it automatically and continues, instead of stopping the login right
there. Login also skips the whole sign-in form if you already had a valid session, and now tells
wrong credentials apart from an actual wall instead of one vague message for both. Live-verified
end to end on a real account
    — this specific fix is confirmed working, not just grounded.
  • Every Porsche command was very likely silently failing, not just unlock. Commands were sent
with the wrong JSON field name entirely (commandName instead of key), confirmed against a
maintained third-party library that has kept working against Porsche's API. Since Porsche login
was blocked until the fix above, no command had ever actually been tested against the real
backend — lock, unlock, climate, charging, honk-and-flash, timers, all of it. Commands are now
also (best-effort) verified to have actually succeeded instead of just assuming a 200 meant it
    worked.
  • Unlock needs your S-PIN, and now actually uses it. The setting was there, but nothing ever
read it or sent it to Porsche, so unlock most likely never worked at all. It now runs the proper
    challenge/response Porsche expects.
  • Vehicle data used a request shape that was never confirmed to work, and tire pressure was
requesting a field that doesn't exist on Porsche's backend at all. Both switched to the real
shape a full read-through of the app's own code confirmed (tire pressure is four separate
per-corner fields, not one combined one) — TPMS has very likely been silently empty until now.
  • Charging target now clamps to 25–100% and checks which of two different ways your car exposes it
instead of assuming everyone's car works the same way. Honk-and-flash now distinguishes "flash
only" from "honk and flash". 429 backoff honors Porsche's own suggested wait time when it sends
one. Token refresh treats both of Porsche's "expired" signals as expired (not just one) and
refreshes proactively instead of always waiting for a request to fail first.
  • VW EU — combustion cars no longer show a phantom electric range or get flagged as a hybrid. On
a diesel Transporter T6.1 (Commercial Vehicles / Nutzfahrzeuge feed) the portal sends a second
range figure alongside the fuel range, and the integration was mistaking it for an electric range —
so a plain diesel with no battery grew an "electric range" sensor and was mislabelled a plug-in
hybrid. A combustion-only car (fuel or CNG, no high-voltage battery, not charging) now keeps only
its combustion range; that stray figure is folded back into the fuel range where it belongs. Also
covers natural-gas (CNG/TGI) cars, which hit the same trap, and self-heals the cached value for
anyone who already saw the phantom. Thanks @EcksteinU for the diagnostics that pinned it down
    (#1316).

Added

  • Real two-way control for geofence alerts, speed alerts, valet mode, and saved destinations —
editing location-based alarms, speed alarms, valet-mode configuration, and adding, updating or
deleting a saved destination. Every field in these commands was recovered by disassembling
Porsche's own app code directly, not guessed and not something the reference library this
integration is grounded against has either. One coordinate format is inferred from a different,
already-confirmed field on the same API rather than directly confirmed; adding/updating a
destination is safest by reading an existing one back and resending it with only the changed
field edited, since hand-building one from scratch touches a richer nested object than it looks.
  • New simple commands: trunk unlock (separate from unlocking the whole car), opening/closing/
venting the windows and sunroof remotely, starting/consenting to a software update, resetting
service-due predictions, and disabling valet mode. None of the new commands above are exposed as
buttons/switches in the UI yet — that's a larger change across every brand's shared entity files,
not just Porsche's, and is tracked as a follow-up.
  • ~20 more real vehicle-data fields requested that weren't being pulled before (valet alarm,
location/speed alerts, per-charging-session stats, software-update status, and more) — even
before there's a dedicated sensor for each one, so a diagnostics export shows what they actually
contain, which is the fastest path to building the sensor once someone's car returns real data.
Deliberately not requested: digital-key pairing fields, since one of them plausibly carries a live
pairing credential and there's no reason to pull that in for zero benefit.
  • Porsche login can now solve a captcha instead of just giving up. If Porsche's sign-in shows a
captcha, the integration displays it right in the setup screen and lets you type the answer in.
Deliberately cautious: one attempt per screen, no automatic retry. Repeatedly retrying a wrong
guess is how real Porsche accounts have ended up locked for "suspicious activity" elsewhere — if
you see this screen, take your best shot; if it's wrong, wait rather than mashing retry.
  • One thing found and confirmed NOT to exist: POI_SEND_TO_CAR is a real command name in the app
but isn't wired to anything in the shipped app itself — not implemented, and not a gap.

Honest status: only the login fix above is live-verified on a real account. Everything else in
this release — commands, vehicle data, the new two-way control, the captcha screen — is grounded
directly against the real app's own code but has NOT been tried against a real car yet. Porsche
stays marked experimental. If you use Porsche, testing it and reporting back (either "it
works" or exactly what broke) is genuinely how the rest of this gets confirmed (#1337).
