Home Assistant integration for Audi · VW · Škoda · SEAT · CUPRA · Porsche · VW US/CA.

What's new in this release / Was ist neu in diesem Release

Added

  • See which data sources each car is connected to. A new connectivity sensor per
source (EU Data Act portal, vw.de website, Car-Net, the brand app, the Škoda official
API, …) shows at a glance which channels your car is on — including a standby failover
like the Škoda official API that only reads when your main channel is down. Each one
carries attributes: whether it is actively feeding data or on standby, how many of the
car's readings it currently provides, when it last delivered, and — for the EU Data Act
portal — its feed health. Works across all brands (#1286).
  • VW EU login: auto-skip the optional marketing-consent page. VW's login sometimes
interjects an optional marketing-consent screen after your password is accepted. On the
    EU Data Act portal channel that used to stop the login and ask you to clear it yourself;
now it is continued past automatically on the "not now" path — no marketing consent
granted, nothing to click. A genuine Terms & Conditions page is deliberately left
untouched (that is a real legal acceptance, so it still points you to accept it once).
  • Škoda: last-trip sensors now appear. The last-trip distance, average speed, average
consumption and date are read from Škoda's own channel but were gated to Audi/VW and
never spawned — they now show up on Škoda too, filled from the most recent day. (The
long-term "lifetime" aggregates stay Audi/VW-only: Škoda's endpoint returns a weekly
window, not a lifetime total.) Reported by @indigomejor (#1310).
  • Škoda official API: a heads-up if another integration is using it too. If the
account holds more official-API keys than we created, a second integration or app is
probably reading the same official Škoda API. That is fine to run, but both share the
same small per-car request budget — so you now get a dismissible notice explaining that
the combined usage can hit Škoda's rate limit sooner and, in the worst case, get the
account temporarily (or eventually permanently) blocked, plus how to remove the key you
do not need (#1286). All 12 languages.
  • Audi plug&play (OBD dongle): last-trip stats, a precise odometer, and a real "last
    parked" time.
The dongle's trip logbook now fills the last-trip distance, duration and
start odometer, and the main odometer switches to the driverlog's sub-metre value
(fresher and more accurate than the coarse snapshot one). The parked-position age now
comes from the GPS fix's own timestamp instead of the unreliable sync stamp.
  • Audi plug&play: EcoScore, refuel "from → to" litres, trip count and driver-score
    points.
The dongle's logbook and fuel log also surface the last trip's EcoScore and
average intake-air temperature, how many litres each fill-up added (with the tank level
before and after it, and the odometer at the time), how many trips are on record, and
your account's driver-score points — all diagnostic, only on plug&play cars that have
    the data. Full 12-language names.

Changed

  • The Škoda official-API enrolment notice now explains it is a rate-limited standby
    channel.
So nobody wonders why it is not updating constantly: the official channel is
capped at a few requests an hour, sits on standby, and only reads when the main
connection cannot — it will not slow anything down.

Fixed

  • A brief backend hiccup during a token refresh no longer forces you to log in again.
When the login server rejected a token refresh, we treated every rejection the same —
including a temporary "try again later" one — and bounced you to a fresh QR / password
re-auth. Now only a genuinely dead login does that; a transient server error, rate blip
or network wobble just retries on the next poll and your entry stays live. Applies to
both the device-code/QR login and the Car-Net (MBB) refresh path.
  • Škoda official-API auto-enrolment: do not skip a valid login over a token-format
    check.
The gate required the login token to look like a specific JWT before it would
mint the official-API key; a legitimate native token in a slightly different shape was
silently skipped, so the "it just works" enrolment never fired. The gate now trusts a
native login and lets the mint attempt run — a backend rejection is captured in the
privacy-safe diagnostics instead of the feature quietly no-op'ing (#1286).
  • Škoda: the phantom "12V battery" that was really the fuel level is gone. On a
combustion Škoda the backend sends the same number in the SoC and fuel-level fields, and
we had been surfacing that as a 12V battery charge (from an unverified early note). It is
now shown only when it is a genuinely distinct value, and it no longer latches at a stale
reading. Thanks to @indigomejor for the side-by-side captures that pinned it down (#1310).
  • Škoda: the "driving" sensor no longer flickers in and out of existence. It was only
set when the car's readiness block was in a given poll, so a poll that momentarily did
not include it made the sensor disappear (and reappear next time). It is now always a
real on/off value — off when there is no motion signal, on only when the car reports it
is moving. Reported by @indigomejor (#1310).
  • Škoda: no more phantom "last fill-up" from a car you used to own. The last fill-up
comes from an account-wide history with no car link, so on a new car it could show an old
session from a previous vehicle. A "latest" fill-up older than a year is now treated as
    stale and hidden (#1310, @indigomejor).
  • Škoda: service reminders you never set no longer show a raw NOT_SET. An unconfigured
reminder came back as the literal text NOT_SET, which reads as a real value in
automations. It is now left blank (unknown) instead (#1310).
  • Škoda: the equipment count stops flickering to "unknown". It does not change between
polls but vanished whenever a poll returned a leaner payload; it is now held at its last
value like the other stable readings (#1310).
  • The account "settings" device is no longer confusingly named like your car. The
integration always creates a small account-level settings device (it holds the
poll-interval control). It was named "VW Group Connect", identical to the integration
itself, so when downloading diagnostics people picked it by mistake and got a file with
no vehicle data. It is now "VW Group Connect Settings", and the test-cohort share prompt
spells out to download diagnostics from your car's own device and links #923.
  • When a car goes unreachable, the entities that explain why no longer vanish with it.
A failed poll (past the tolerance window) took the whole car's entities down — including
"Vehicle Last Reported", the data-source and connectivity indicators, and the
error-reporter counts. Those connection-status diagnostics now stay available regardless
of the poll outcome, so you are never left blind at the moment the car drops off.
  • Privacy: a diagnostics download no longer leaks the full VIN. The Škoda widget's
render-image URL embeds the VIN in its filename; the redaction masked the VIN everywhere
else but missed that one string. It is now masked there too (#1310, @indigomejor).
