Below you will find a summary of all changes since v1.9.3, including those introduced in intermediate beta releases, as this is the first
"regular" release since then.
Added
- Adaptive Lighting: Support for Adaptive Lighting on lights with a Color Temperature characteristic. (see #30 / #488 / #1146)
- Now enabled by default. Set
adaptive_lightingtofalsein the converter configuration to disable it. - New
min_deltaoption to set a minimum color temperature difference (in mired) before sending an update, reducing MQTT traffic. - New
enabledoption for explicit enable/disable control within an object configuration. - Cached color temperature is reset when the light is turned on or brightness changes via HomeKit, ensuring the next update is sent.
- Now enabled by default. Set
- Expose electrical measurement properties (
power,voltage,current,energy,produced_energy) using Eve-compatible custom characteristics, visible in the Eve app and other HomeKit apps that support custom characteristics. (see #505) - Support for Carbon Dioxide (
co2) sensors. (see #609) - Expose
movingas Motion Sensor. (see #956) - Properties/exposes information can now be excluded based on
endpoint, using theexcluded_endpointsconfiguration option. (relates to #517) - Window Covering can now be requested to stop moving. (see #483)
- Debug messages can be output as
infoby settingdebug_as_infototruein the plugin configuration. - Experimental: Availability information from Zigbee2MQTT is now used to determine if a device is reachable, when the
AVAILABILITYexperimental feature flag is enabled. This feature is disabled by default. (see #36)- New
ignore_z2m_onlinedevice option to not mark devices as offline when Zigbee2MQTT reports itself as offline.
- New
Changed
- Breaking: Drop support for Node.js v18. Now requires Node.js v20.18.0+, v22.10.0+ or v24.0.0+.
- Breaking: Drop support for Homebridge v1.6.x and v1.7.x. Now requires Homebridge v1.8.0+ or v2.0.0-beta.0+.
- Updated MQTT topic handling for Zigbee2MQTT 2.0 compatibility:
- The
bridge/statetopic now supports both JSON format ({"state":"online"}) and plain strings for backwards compatibility. - The deprecated
bridge/configtopic is no longer handled (usebridge/infoinstead).
- The
- Lights:
color_modeis now always used (no longer behind an experimental flag). - Light sensor uses
illuminanceas a fallback ifilluminance_luxis not available, improving Zigbee2MQTT v2 compatibility. (see #966) - Brightness for lights is no longer requested by default (prevents issues when light is off). Old behavior can be restored using the
request_brightnessoption. (see #882) - Window Covering now uses
motor_state(if provided) to improve the user experience in the Home.app. (see #852) - Process devices not yet supported by Zigbee2MQTT if they provide exposes information.
- For numeric characteristics, the range is automatically updated if an out-of-range value is received.
- Exposes information is now filtered before passing it to the service handlers for improved consistency and maintainability.
- MQTT messages published by this plugin are now logged at
debuglevel by default (configurable vialog.mqtt_publish). (see #518) config.schema.json:excludeis now set tofalsewhen unchecked, allowing per-device overrides of a globalexclude: truesetting. (see #610)
Fixed
- Homebridge v2 compatibility: characteristic values are set correctly before limiting ranges; accessory names are sanitized to valid characters.
- Non-zero brightness levels below 1% are now rounded up to 1%. (see #673)
- Processing JSON availability payload no longer results in a TypeError.
- When combining exposes information of grouped devices,
value_minandvalue_maxare now combined correctly.
