Fixed

  • The app could close by itself — on the home screen after a while, at the end of a row, when the TV went into the power-saving clock, or in the player (#65). A core dump from an LG C9 showed the cause: the LG's SDL 2.0.4 shares pixel-format objects between images with a reference count that has no lock (libsdl-org/SDL #2475, only fixed in SDL 2.0.22). With two decode threads and the drawing thread creating and freeing images at the same time, the count reached zero while still in use and the next free crashed. The app now pins those objects at startup so the count can never reach zero. This also explains an earlier unexplained crash inside libSDL2.
  • The next episode could take minutes to start (#61). Source verification waited for every candidate to answer, and a torrent candidate goes through up to seven Real-Debrid calls of 15 s each. It now starts as soon as the first candidate in order has a verdict; slow candidates are left to time out on their own.
  • "Resume" opened the source list again with "Choose the source when playing" enabled (#62). When the source you chose before is in the list, it plays directly. The list is still one long press away.
  • Trailers, recommendations, studios and details from the previous movie showed under a title without an IMDb id (#60). The previous title's data was never cleared.
  • A live channel whose source stalled reloaded the same URL. Channel lists from some add-ons repeat the same proxy URL; the watchdog now skips duplicates when moving to the next source.

Performance

  • Artwork no longer reloads when you open a title. Measured on an LG C9: almost every row card was decoded twice (once at 736 px, again at 768 px when focused — 4% larger), and the title logo three times as the detail page animated in. Each decode costs 300–500 ms on this CPU and shows as the art "reloading". A texture is now re-decoded only when the request is at least 25% larger.
  • Title logos are downloaded at the size they are drawn. Row cards drew 300 px logos from 1280 px PNGs (up to 460 ms each). They now use TMDB's w300/w500/w780 sizes; the hero and the detail page keep w1280.
  • The artwork you open a title with stays until you close it. Background metadata (localized logo, larger backdrop) used to replace the art a few seconds after opening. It is still stored for next time; it just does not swap while you are looking.

Notes

The crash fix is in the LG build; the Samsung build gets the same code but its SDL already had the lock, so nothing changes there.

Same two LG packages as always (_arm.ipk and _arm-highcache.ipk); "Update now" picks the one you run.
