Added

  • TV Guide, rebuilt. List mode and card mode (switch at the top of the guide, remembered), programme data for as many days as the EPG source gives (about four with the current sources — a full week is not published by them), and the neighbouring channels are pre-fetched while you decide, so CH+/CH- open faster.
  • Channel add-ons inside the guide. A panel lists only the add-ons that provide channels, lets you turn them on or off with immediate effect, and offers a short curated list of public channel add-ons you can install from the sofa (Fenix TV featured).
  • Channels are grouped by category even when the add-on sends none. The category comes from the channel name (ESPN → Sports, GloboNews → News, Cartoon Network → Kids…), then from the catalog name. Sections are in alphabetical order.
  • A "what's new" card shows this once after updating.

Fixed

  • Opening a channel asked every add-on for its source. A broken add-on (FrostView answering 408 all day) held the request until its timeout even though the channel came from another add-on. The app now asks only the add-on that published the channel: measured on an LG C9, button to source went from tens of seconds to 0.3–1.6 s.
  • Installing a big add-on (Pluto TV, 1,500 channels) hid your other add-ons. It filled the guide's 900 slots alone. Each catalog now gets a share of the slots, so a large one cannot crowd out a small one.
  • Pluto TV channels did not play on LG. Its stream URL is ~1.7 KB; the message sent to the media service was cut at 2 KB and the TV answered Method "load" was not handled. The buffer is 8 KB now.
  • "Could not open the source" while the channel was in fact loading. The LG media pipeline can spend 20 s filling its buffer before showing the first frame; the app declared the source dead at 12 s. A filling buffer now counts as alive; the error only comes after 45 s with data and no picture.
  • The error card stayed on screen with the video playing behind it. The check that clears it ran only inside the channel watchdog, which had already stopped. It now runs every frame while the player is open.
  • Holding down to jump sections was too fast. It now takes 1.1 s to enter jump mode and moves one section every 0.55 s.
  • A movie whose "logo" was the same image as its poster showed the poster as a title. It now shows the title text instead.

Notes

Why only the origin add-on is asked. A channel id belongs to the add-on that declared it; another add-on answers 404 or an empty list to it (measured with Meu Futebol). Asking everyone only adds the slowest add-on's timeout to every channel open.

Samsung and Referer (issue #59, #3). Unchanged in this release: the Samsung player (AVPlay) accepts a cookie and a user agent but has no way to send a Referer header, and that is the header these CDNs check. Channels from Meu Futebol and similar add-ons still will not open on Samsung. It needs a different approach (a local proxy inside the app), which is not in this release.

Recommended add-ons. Six add-ons, hand-picked, tested on 2026-09-18 (manifest, catalog and stream). There is no public popularity ranking of Stremio add-ons, so the list shows no numbers. Only add-ons with a public URL and no API key are included; check the header of art/addons-recomendados.txt for what was tested and why the rest was left out.

High-cache. Two LG packages as usual (_arm.ipk and _arm-highcache.ipk); "Update now" picks the one you are running. There is no high-cache .wgt: measured on Samsung, the larger texture budget made decoding slower, not faster, so the Tizen build ignores it.
