Fixed
- Black screen on 2020 Samsung TVs. The app declares Tizen 5.5 as its minimum, but the JavaScript glue was being compiled for a newer browser than those TVs have. One unsupported construction is enough: the whole script fails to parse and nothing is drawn. Present in every release until now.
Packages
- LG:
...arm.ipkis the normal build....arm-highcache.ipkkeeps 300 MB of artwork in memory — only worth it on a TV with RAM to spare. - Samsung: one package only. There is no high-cache build for Samsung, and that is deliberate: measured on a QN85Q70AAGXZD, the 300 MB build was slower than the normal one — the same artwork took 1481 ms to decode normally and 3575 ms with the larger ceiling. On Samsung the app now ignores that setting and uses what the TV actually handles, so a high-cache package would behave exactly like this one.
Notes
Why the glue problem lasted so long: the build check only looked for three newer constructions (?., ??, ||=) and reported "0 remaining" while hundreds of class fields — Chrome 72+, from Emscripten's own generated code — passed straight through. The check is now done by idempotence: lowering an already-lowered file must change nothing, and the build fails if it does.
Not verified on a 2020 TV — there is no Samsung set on this bench. What is verified is that the output no longer changes when lowered again, and that the class-field shim is present in the shipped file.
Install: LG needs Developer Mode; Samsung needs you to sign the .wgt with your own certificate (it ships unsigned on purpose).
