Fixes from the first day of reports, plus a package that is 115 MB lighter.
Add-ons
- A profile marked
uses_primary_pluginsreads the primary profile's add-ons, the way the web app has always done. The native port did not know the flag existed and asked under the profile's own index, so such a profile came back with none. - Subtitles were never fetched at all on a synced account. Add-ons from the account were stored with the subtitles capability set to 0, and the subtitle search skips any add-on that does not declare it. Nobody had subtitles and nothing on screen said why.
- A disabled add-on used to be dropped on read, so it could not be seen or re-enabled from the TV. It is kept now and skipped only at query time.
- New screen at Settings → Account → Add-ons: what each one provides (catalog, sources, subtitles, read from its manifest, not assumed), and OK toggles it. Toggling syncs, so switching one off here switches it off on your phone.
Languages
- The interface language setting did nothing at all —
ajustes_idioma_ingles()had zero call sites. Translation now happens where every string on screen already passes, and English is the default. - Subtitle and audio language preferences come from your account (
subtitle_preferred_language,preferred_audio_language). Subtitle search used to have Portuguese and English nailed into the source and dropped every other language in silence. - No preference means no filter. Showing everything is the honest answer to not knowing; a guessed filter hides the subtitle you were looking for and gives you no way to find out why.
Trakt
- Linking it stored the token and changed nothing on screen until the next launch, because the catalogue is built once at startup. It rebuilds now, and waits for a running sync to finish instead of dropping the request.
Package
- 313 MB → 198 MB. The 4K hero art was PNG with no alpha channel; the same art as JPEG is 29 MB instead of 145 MB.
Still not verified
- Only tested on a rooted C9 (webOS 4.10). A non-rooted install needs LS2 access to
com.webos.mediaand I have not measured whether it is granted — if it is not, expect a working UI and a black video plane. - This build targets webOS 4.x. Its video path uses libAcbAPI, which LG removed in webOS 5, so on a newer TV nothing will play. The web build is the one for those sets.
Other builds
This one is native C/SDL2 and targets webOS 4.x only. If your TV is newer or
older, the sibling repository is where to look:
- NuvioTVSmart-legacy-webos — the JavaScript fork. Its webOS 4 release has been run on webOS 5, and it carries preview builds for webOS 3 (C8, B7), which this native port does not target at all.
Both are unofficial and not affiliated with NuvioMedia.
