v1.0.17 — Back no longer closes the app

Back on the home screen no longer closes the app, and the Portuguese-text hunt (#12) stops being done by hand.

Back on the home screen

Reported: "on the home screen, pressing Back closes the app on LG and freezes it on Tizen." It did close — sair = 1 on the first press, no warning. On a TV, Back is the most-used undo key, and losing the whole session to one extra press is the worst possible outcome for a correction gesture. Reproduced here: pressing Back on the LG's home screen made the log print fim.

Two steps now. Away from the top-left corner, Back moves focus there — the "go up one level" that the hand already expects. At the corner, the first Back only asks, for 3 seconds; only a second Back inside that window exits.

The Tizen freeze has its own cause: with EXIT_RUNTIME=0 the main loop ends and the page stays up, canvas frozen on the last frame, nothing responding. From the sofa that is indistinguishable from a hang. The exit now calls Tizen's own application-exit API.

Three more from the same session

  • Text vanishing in the poster menu. The pill's background is animated dark→light as focus arrives, but the text colour flipped light→dark instantly. For the ~200 ms the spring was still running that is dark text on a dark background — and light on light on the row losing focus. Both make the label disappear. The colour now follows the same animation.
  • The home screen not refreshing after un-marking as watched. Nothing in the home reads the watched table — the rows are built by discovery from what Trakt returned. Confirming the change now triggers a network-free row rebuild.
  • The next-episode card appearing far too early. The credits marker comes from an outside service (api.introdb.app — no key, just the IMDb id) and is sometimes wrong. A marker that fires with half an hour to go is not credits. It is now accepted only while at most 20% of the episode remains, and a rejected one is logged with both numbers.

#12 — the Portuguese-text sweep is now a tool

Three rounds of this issue were fixed by hand, and after each release another screenshot arrived showing another screen in Portuguese. Hand sweeping does not terminate, so it became tools/varredura-i18n.py: it joins adjacent C literals, decodes \xNN and \uNNNN, separates the two kinds of defect (missing key vs. sentence assembled with snprintf) and checks against the table.

The tool had the very bug it was looking for. Its list of "calls whose text never reaches the screen" was matched by substring, and printf matches inside snprintf — so every string assembled with snprintf was silently discarded. That is exactly how A seguir in the post-play panel — one of the screens in the reporter's photo — went unnoticed. It matches whole names now.

89 new keys, including all three screens from those photos: the whole post-play panel, Personalizar and the Settings option descriptions, and the login errors that snprintf was assembling. Six formats are now wrapped at the source.

tests/i18n.sh ties together the three questions this issue tripped over in three separate rounds: the table answers, the table is sorted, and nothing is missing.
