v2.2.9 (pre-release) — 2026-11-07
Reddit save-flow stability hardening (blind — no device stack trace available yet;
the v2.2.9 bundle also ships the telemetry to GET one):
- Remove ads — Layer 3 (comment-banner ad loader kill) rewritten as a constant
return-void entry. The previous injection didmove-result v0after its
helper call, overwriting register v0 (the receiver) — harmless only because
the short-circuit always bypassed the body, but structurally identical to
the failure that crashed Mereframe at preview. Zero registers now used. - Remove ads — Layer 5 (AdPostSection Compose-render no-op) KEPT ON by
explicit decision (2026-11-07); fails loudly at patch time if signatures
drift, never silently. See docs/REDDIT-STABILITY.md. - NEW patch (off by default): "Reddit: Diagnostic crash log" — injects an
uncaught-exception hook at the verified Moshi AccountJsonAdapter constructor
(fires on the first account sync; effectively every cold start). Writes the
full stack + device/app version header to Downloads/reddit-crash-*.txt
(MediaStore; no permission), then chains to the original handler. - Account JSON surgery family untouched (register-safe, reverse-order apply,
loud patch-time failure otherwise). - Proteus listing memo unchanged (bounded, synchronized, same-size mutation
window noted as a correctness nit, not a crash vector).
Known limitations: no device verification for any of this yet; Layer 5 remains
the open risk on the save path; the diagnostic cannot capture crashes before
the first account sync; 2026.42.0 is the verified build (others experimental).
v2.2.8 is unchanged. Latest full release remains v2.2.4.
