INCEpTION 0.10.0

We are pleased to announce the release of INCEpTION 0.10.0.

INCEpTION is an extensible web-based collaborative environment
for text annotation. It integrates machine-learning-based annotation
support, knowledge base management and corpus building into
a single comprehensive platform.

This is a feature release.

Notable changes since INCEpTION 0.9.1

  • Added documents recently worked on to dashboard and allow to quickly access location of last change
  • Added ability to group search results in sidebar by annotation feature value
  • Added basic support for importing annotations in the Perseus XML treebank format
  • Added NIF import/export
  • Added TEI import/export
  • Added ability to use OpenNLP POS tagger for concept features (i.e. using OLIA ontologies)
  • Improved loading time for results from ElasticSearch-based document repositories
  • Improved performance of bulk annotation/deletion actions
  • Fixed issue that search results sidebar snaps to top when a result is (de)selected
  • Fixed description tooltips not showing for feature labels
  • Fixed recommendations sometimes not being displayed
  • ... and more improvements and bug-fixes under the hood.

License and System requirements

INCEpTION is provided as open source software under the Apache License version 2.

Running INCEpTION requires Java version 8 or higher.

By default, INCEpTION uses an embedded database which is sufficient for testing. However, the use of a MySQL database is recommended.

INCEpTION works best with Chrome and Safari.
