iiSU Alpha 0.0.3 Public Release

This marks the first public release of iiSU!
A dual-screen–optimized Android launcher built for devices like the AYANEO Pocket DS, Pocket ACE, Pocket DMG, OneXPlayer Sugar, AYN Thor, and Retroid Pocket 5 with the RDS Add-On aswell any other single screen handheld!

This version includes major UI upgrades, RetroAchievements integration, and a fully reworked navigation and layout system.

  • All standalone emulators are supported.
If the emulator works as a normal Android app (standalone APK), you can add it without any problem inside iiSU.

  • To switch to the single-screen wide mode, just tap the profile icon (or press the Start button), go to Home Design, and select Wide.

  • For dual-screen consoles, do the same steps and select Enable iiSU DS Mode. This will activate the dual-screen layout for supported devices.

Highlights

  • Global Context Menu Overhaul
A unified, system-wide menu for Apps, ROMs, Tabs, and Consoles: replacing scattered dialogs with a single consistent interface.

  • ROM Folder Browsing
Full directory navigation for ROM collections, including subfolder scanning, caching, and large library optimization.

  • New App & ROM Layout Modes

    • Grid, List, Carousel (horizontal/vertical), and Condensed List.
    • Per-tab layout selection.
    • Snap-to-grid placement and refined focus behavior.
  • Dual-Screen Enhancements

    • Console hero layouts and dashboard-like wide modes.
    • Per-ROM screen targeting.
    • Companion app linking (open secondary apps on the opposite screen).
    • Detailed ROM and app views with background art & achievements.
  • RetroAchievements Integration

    • Login with username + API key.
    • Background ROM hashing with loading indicators.
    • Trophy lists fetched per-ROM on demand.
    • Fallback artwork from RetroAchievements when no icon is provided.
    • Recently played summary section in the RA tab.
  • Console & Emulator Config Improvements

    • Multiple emulator package name support.
    • Console folder creation and per-tab configuration.
    • Extensive built-in console definitions.
  • UI & Performance Upgrades

    • New focus animations, improved scaling, and layout polish.
    • Faster navigation and smoother transitions.

Known Issues (Already Being Worked On)

  • SAF bug: Adding consoles that require SAF (like Azahar or melonDS) only works when iiSU DS Mode is disabled, otherwise the folder picker won’t open, please disable iiSU DS Mode, add the console, and then you can return to iiSU DS Mode!

  • Blur overlay bug: After creating a new console/tab, a blurred overlay may remain. Press B, the Android back button, or the back gesture to close it or tap it. Navigation continues to work in the meantime and can cause troubles.

  • HomeScreen activation: With iiSU DS Mode enabled, the Home Screen may appear inactive at start. Tap the Home Screen to activate it.
If the screen turns gray, or losses focus of controller keys, simply switch tabs manually to recover.
