Pokémon Shield companion 1.0.0

Pokémon Shield (01008DB008C2C000), game version 1.3.2, with Isle of Armor and Crown Tundra. By igawa6.

🥇 Commissioned by Khaz Otter. Huge thanks for your support!

First release, together with the Pokémon Sword companion: the same companion, built for Shield with Shield's own build offsets, encounter tables and Pokédex entries. Galar's Town Map, your party, the Pokédex, the Bag and your League Card move to the second screen. Battles get a touch command screen that stays in step with the game's own menus.

  • Town Map. The regional map with your position, weather and the current Wild Area zone. Tap a town or route to see its wild Pokémon by weather and method (Shield's own encounter tables, so the version exclusives are Shield's), then Fly there with the game's own Flying Taxi. Toggle the Rotom Bike, and check raid dens from your last save.
  • Pokémon. Your party with HP, types, stats, nature, ability, moves and type matchups. Drag a Pokémon to reorder the party; the game's own party order changes too.
  • Pokédex. Galar, Isle of Armor and Crown Tundra lists, with Shield's Pokédex entries, base stats, details and evolution steps for the Pokémon you know.
  • Bag. Every pocket with descriptions. Use medicine, PP items, Rare Candy, EXP Candy and evolution stones on a party member; the game runs its own effects, move learning and evolution.
  • League Card. Your saved trainer card picture, money, BP, Watts, badges, caught counts and the companion settings.
  • Battles. Fight, Pokémon, Bag and Run follow the game's own cursor. Tap a move to use it, with type effectiveness and full move details. Throw a Poké Ball from a bottom-screen picker. Foe, own and field tabs (weather, terrain and their turns) can fold away into a compact layout. Offline Max Raids show the boss and your three allies, with Dynamax and Max moves.
  • Top screen. The game's battle command menus are hidden on the top screen while the companion handles them; the native HP plates stay visible. Both can be switched in Settings.
  • Languages. English, French, German, Italian, Spanish and Japanese. Korean and Chinese need Eden Duo 1.3.3 (runtime 23) and the console's system fonts from your own firmware; without them those languages are not offered.
  • Short fades on page changes and new readouts, and touch feedback for taps, confirmed actions and refused ones. Reduced motion turns the fades off.

Direct commands cover offline single battles and Max Raids. In doubles and Battle Tower battles the bottom screen works through the game's own menu cursor; link and online battles are untested, so use the game's controls there. Other game versions are refused before the companion reads or changes anything. This package is for Pokémon Shield only; Pokémon Sword has its own package.

Validation: tested on the desktop build of Eden Duo; the Shield package has not yet been checked on an Android handheld (the shared Sword companion has).

The companion ships no game art and no game text: maps, icons, Pokémon sprites, the font and all game text (names, descriptions, menu and battle words, place names) are read from your own game files; those assets remain the property of their respective owners.

Credits: heap offsets from the public SysBot.NET and CaptureSight research; save-block and Pokémon data layouts from PKHeX (kwsch); game file formats (text tables, encounter and placement archives) from pkNX (kwsch) and its Python port pokedat (Digote); den locations from PKHeX_Raid_Plugin (Leanny); experience growth formulas as documented on Bulbapedia. Thank you to everyone who published this research.

Install: in Eden Duo, long-press the game, open Add-ons, choose Install, and select this file (don't rename it). Requires Eden Duo 1.3.2.2 or newer (runtime 22); Korean and Chinese need Eden Duo 1.3.3.
