Close your host, run the installer (it installs over an older version), then rescan your host's plug-ins. The standalone is an optional installer component. The Windows installer is not yet signed: when Windows says “Windows protected your PC”, click More info, then Run anyway.
SHA256SUMS.txt lists checksums for the installers, Windows ZIP, 0.1 presets and sources archive. THIRD-PARTY-NOTICES.txt contains third-party licences; CA-72-0.2.1-git-sources.tar.gz contains the git-pinned dependency sources. The CA-72's own source is this repository at v0.2.1.
In this release
- Instant panel toggle. PANEL snaps between the short and full window without a growing animation. Opening presets temporarily reveals the lower panel and closing them restores the compact view. The compact resize grip remains available. A refused current resize restores the confirmed view; stale replies are ignored.
- Strong filter contours. HI runs its filter at 4× and LO at 8×, with bounded nonlinear solving and cutoff saturation, reducing broadband crackle and aliased resonance at high EMPHASIS and AMOUNT OF CONTOUR. HI and LO use more CPU and sound different; ULTRA and the circuit's calibration values are unchanged. Saved projects and presets remain compatible.
- Standalone application. The same instrument runs without a DAW, with CoreAudio, WASAPI or ALSA, output and MIDI selection, external audio input, and restoration of sound, window size and working device choices. Open Audio & MIDI from settings to choose devices. Held notes are released rather than restored.
- Playable lower keyboard. The keyboard button switches the lower controls to a 44-key keyboard. Click or drag to play, shift octaves, use TYPE for computer-keyboard notes, and PANIC to release notes. Hiding the keyboard releases its local notes while physical MIDI continues.
- Window fixes and validation. Full CI passed on macOS, Windows and Linux. Native standalone and DAW checks cover repeated height changes, compact width dragging, preset reveal/restore and repainting; host-specific evidence and remaining limits are recorded with the release.
