LibreMerge 1.3: WinMerge's context menus, the syntax menu, and themes on KDE Plasma
This release brings WinMerge's context menus to the text panes and to table cells, its View > Syntax Highlight menu with a syntax column in the status bar, View Whitespace and View EOL with Convert Line Endings, and fixes the Light and Dark themes on KDE Plasma with a distribution's Qt.
Added
- The pane's context menu, as WinMerge's: copy the difference to or from each side, Copy Selected Lines, copy a side's difference to the clipboard (Ctrl+1, 2 and 3), Select Line Difference (F4 and Shift+F4), Add to Filters (display, line and substitution filters) and Go to.
- A table cell's context menu, with the same copies, the clipboard and the filters; F4 goes from cell to cell, and File > Convert Line Endings to works on tables too.
- View > Syntax Highlight, WinMerge's menu: choose the language a comparison is colored by, and a syntax column in each pane's status bar that does the same for one pane only ("Apply to this pane only") or goes back to "Auto Syntax". "Ignore comment differences" follows the language chosen.
- View Whitespace and View EOL, and File > Convert Line Endings to (also a click on the line ending in the status bar), as in WinMerge.
Changed
- The status bar counts ignored differences apart ("Diff. 2 of 5 (3 ign.)"), and Go To numbers differences the same way, as WinMerge does now.
- The status bar names things as WinMerge: the lines of a selection, ghost lines and the encodings.
- A file whose extension gives no language takes the other pane's, and an XML declaration on the first line gives XML, as WinMerge opens files.
- Overlapping Tree-sitter highlights resolve as in WinMerge's latest fix.
- Copying an image difference larger than the target image grows the target (WinIMerge's fix).
- New and updated texts in German, Spanish, Catalan and French come from WinMerge's translations.
Fixed
- Light and Dark themes on KDE Plasma with the distribution's Qt and Breeze: Light stayed dark on a dark desktop (and the other way round), the menu bar became unreadable after a switch, and a fixed theme followed the desktop when its color scheme changed (#17, thanks @KrokusPokus).
- Changing the theme no longer marks the comparison as edited.
- Undo and redo say when they leave the files identical.
- LibreMerge builds again with the Qt of Debian 13 and of Ubuntu 24.04 (Qt 6.4 or newer).
