WinMerge's Find, Replace and Marker dialogs, and the whole location pane
This release brings in WinMerge's search: its Find and Replace dialogs, F3 to search again, the marking of every occurrence, and the Marker dialog for texts of your own. The location pane is now WinMerge's in full, with its menu and the Go To dialog, and the panes keep in step however they scroll.
Added
- Find and Replace as in WinMerge. Edit > Find (Ctrl+F) and Edit > Replace (Ctrl+H, Option+Command+F on the Mac) open WinMerge's dialogs, with whole word, match case, regular expressions (their groups and case changes in the replacement) and "don't wrap". Replace All works through the file or a selection, in one undo step, and tells how many it replaced. F3 and Shift+F3 search again either way, Ctrl+F3 searches for the word at the cursor, and the fields keep a history of what was typed.
- Every occurrence marked. The text last searched for is marked wherever it shows, in every pane. Edit > Marker (Ctrl+Shift+M) opens WinMerge's Marker dialog, for texts of your own marked in three colors and kept between sessions; it also turns the marking off.
- The location pane, complete. A click brings that part of the comparison to the middle of the panes, and dragging keeps doing so, as asked in #9. A double click puts the cursor there, the wheel scrolls, and the right button opens WinMerge's menu: Go to Line, Go to, Move Cursor on Click and the moved blocks, which the pane joins with ribbons.
- Edit > Go to (Ctrl+G, Control+G on the Mac) opens WinMerge's Go To dialog, for a line of any file or a difference by its number.
- macOS: the search field of the Help menu finds and runs any menu item.
Changed
- The find bar gives way to the dialogs, and Find Next and Find Previous leave the Edit menu, as in WinMerge: F3 and Shift+F3 (also Command+G on the Mac) do their work.
- German: the review by @KrokusPokus in #8 is in, with "Voreinstellungen" for the Defaults buttons. The hint of the path fields on the selection screen is shorter in every language.
- The selection screen's empty filter field shows WinMerge's example.
Fixed
- The panes and the location pane fell out of step in the AppImage (#9, thanks @KrokusPokus): with the AppImage's Qt, a scroll the editor makes by itself (a search, Page Down, a click on the location pane) left the other pane and the location pane's marker behind. Every scroll now keeps them together.
- The location pane's marker now follows a resized window and a zoomed text.
