Fixed

HOME no longer gets stuck on Amazon's home when Amazon's home comes back within a second of dumbtv home replacing it, as it can on waking the TV or after a quick run of HOME presses. The second one used to be ignored; it is now kept and handled a moment later. On a Fire OS 7 TV that case went from 0 of 8 to 8 of 8. Thanks to Anny0nn (#153, #154).
The Appstore tile opens the store on Fire OS 8. It used to flash and stay on dumbtv home. Thanks to alrubearb-sys (#133).
Grid layout: Down from a column the short last line does not reach goes to that line's nearest tile instead of skipping to the inputs. Thanks to Majunko (#131, #135).
Settings on Fire OS 6 opens a short list of the sections an app may open directly (Network, Notifications, Applications and more), plus All settings… for the rest, instead of Amazon's page that drew its first row off the screen. Fire OS 7 and 8 are unchanged. Thanks to ryanlucht, and to dcowern for mapping what Fire OS 6 allows (#77, #128).
After a restart on Fire OS 6, dumbtv home takes over in about 10 seconds instead of about 80. Thanks to rawIce (#151).

Changed

With the inputs row hidden in the rows layout, the apps row sits lower on the screen instead of right under the clock. Thanks to lisanet (#132).

dnsfilter.sh on Fire OS 8 no longer deletes the list the filter's saved settings point at when its RESTART press goes astray, and it retries that press (#155, with reports from #147, #148, #152).
Prime Video plays behind the filter on Fire OS 6 (#144); the Fire TV phone app pairs again on Fire OS 6, 7 and 8 (#145); Amlogic inputs and EU HbbTV packages are never disabled (#139).
configure.sh takes only package names, dnsfilter.sh checks the tracker list before pushing it, and verify.sh reports Data Saver (#124).
launcher.sh says so when Fire OS stops on a parental-controls PIN or parental controls keep the takeover from starting (#123, #155).
New device reports: Insignia AFTJMST12, Grundig AFTEU014, Fire TV 4-Series AFTTI43 and AFTNA67200, TCL AFTSHN02, AFTNA1322D, AFTKM on RS8185, AFTR on PS7699, a fourth AFTKRT and a second AFTDCT31, Hisense 65U8QG and Chromecast with Google TV 4K.

Install or update: ./scripts/launcher.sh (checksum-verified). No permissions on Fire OS 7 and 8, no internet access.
