DriveClub Recomp 0.2.5-vr1.2 (VR)

Playable in VR at 3200x3200 per eye at 72 FPS.

Changes since 0.2.4-vr1.1

Performance

  • Much smoother frame pacing: far fewer frames over 11.1 ms (at 2560 per eye: about 14% down to 4%), and higher frame rates overall.
  • The two-thread draw path is on in VR again, with its corruption and crash fixed.
  • VR fast mode removed from the launcher as it is now standard.

Fixes

  • Floating vegetation clumps fixed. Occasionally they might be seen, but should be very rare.
  • Grey or black single-frame flashes (mostly on the fly-by) fixed.
  • Repeated and jumping frames in the intro video fixed.
  • Crash fixes: video player, draw thread, and a memory leak.

Steering wheels (from upstream DriveClub Recomp)

  • From the launcher run: Driving->Wheel->Wheel Setup
  • Force feedback from the car's tyre physics (Reworked Physics) or the game's own, with the FFB Tuner for live tuning.
  • Pedals, shifter and handbrake on their own USB, wheels that are two controllers (Fanatec), and the Wheel Setup window.
  • Forces stop when the game ends or crashes.

DLSS

  • VR DLSS fixed: the race-start stutter with DLSS on is gone (3200 per eye with DLSS Quality holds 72 Hz), and DLSS no longer costs extra CPU.
  • New VR DLSS model option (presets K, J, M, L and F).
  • New VR sharpening (LumaSharpen on the final picture), replacing the old DLSS sharpener. Both are in VR EXPERIMENTAL.

Launcher and upstream 0.2.5

  • Settings split over tabs: Graphics, Gameplay, Driving and Benchmark. The new Driving tab has the assists, field of view (F5 / F6 in game), Wheel Setup and force feedback.
  • Benchmark mode, frame pacing and launcher improvements from upstream 0.2.5.

Known: the first race after installing can show the odd glitch while the game builds its shader cache; it settles on later runs.
