Nuvio + IPTV 1.1.0-beta.13.1
What's new
Live TV
- Quick Channels: a row of channels tucked under the play bar. Press Down to open it, and switch between Recently Watched, Favorites, any playlist or your own groups. Set it up in Settings → Live TV → Quick Channels or from the play bar's ⚙ panel
- Backup channels, faster: press Right twice in full screen for a panel with every backup copy of the channel: what's on, which playlist it's from, and the quality. Hold OK on a backup for the full options menu (start over, record, favorites, rename, hide and more)
- Overlay mode options: keep the list open when you change channel, or show only the list (details on Right)
- Time shift per playlist and per guide, for providers that are off by an hour or more. You can also set the catch-up time zone for each playlist
- Captions on or off are remembered for each channel
- Also Clean Group Names: Channel Name Cleanup can remove the same words from group names too (off by default)
- Show update banners: a new setting to hide the playlist, guide and On Demand update progress. Updates still happen in the background
- The ⚙ panel and the menus over the video now follow the play bar's Bar darkness setting, Lightest included
- A small "Up to seek" hint above the seek bar
Recordings
- Recordings play full screen in the Live TV player, with the seek bar, 30-second skips and resume. Back returns you to Recordings or the Calendar
- Series folders: shows with several recordings go into a folder with a page of episodes, marked Watched, minutes left or New
- Move To: move recordings between this device and a USB drive
Sports
- Score Delay: hold back scores, clocks, results and scoring alerts (30 seconds to 5 minutes) so they match your stream's delay
- All Events has a sport row (All, Football, Basketball…)
- Finished games show replays first, and say where each replay comes from
- Games from Sports addons can be paused and skipped (replays, and live games with a rewind window)
Updates
- Install now opens Android's own installer screen, with progress and Done / Open, like other apps
From Nuvio 1.1.0-beta.12 and beta.13
- Long descriptions on the Home hero can scroll automatically (optional)
- Better Skip Intro for anime
- Many smaller fixes and updated translations
Fixed
- Catch-up replays and Watch from the beginning no longer play a show from hours earlier on providers whose clock is in a different time zone
- Faster and smoother, especially on small boxes: quicker start to Home, smoother channel changes and Sports, and less memory and processor use
- F1 and other race weekends no longer show as live all weekend. They're live only while practice, qualifying, a sprint or the race is on, and show the next session's time otherwise
- Groups from Xtream logins now appear in the order your provider set
- Sports slowing down or freezing after you'd left the page
- Sports channel search freezing the app
- Flicker on channels that switch between 59.94 and 60 Hz with Match frame rate on
- Favorites, hidden channels and your groups being lost when a playlist renamed a channel. Channels renamed earlier get their settings back
- Pause and record not working on some HLS (m3u8) channels
- Captions stopping in full screen while using Rewind Anytime
- Catch-up recordings that saved nothing on some providers. Stopping a long recording now keeps what was recorded
- Calendar showing the wrong profile's shows after a profile switch
- A game opened full screen from Sports showing "Nothing playing"
- LPGA golf not finding channels, and the wrong show picked when several tournaments were on
- The guide briefly showing its old look when it opened
- VPN: more OpenVPN files import (ExpressVPN and others), provider ZIP bundles can be imported, VPN streams no longer stall, and a backup restore no longer fails because of one older WireGuard profile
- Videos sometimes not ending at the end, your subtitle choice being lost after a restore, and wrong episode numbers sent to Trakt
- Several crashes
Special thanks
A big thank you to bArKEr (@ghbarker) for all his work on this release: VPN import and connection fixes, additional speed and memory improvements across Live TV, Sports and the Calendar, the update banner setting, and more.
