The new built-in VPN is entirely his work. He wrote the WireGuard and OpenVPN support and contributed it to this project as a pull request. It protects your playback right inside the app, with no separate VPN app needed. The same VPN is in the phone app too. Thank you, ghbarker! 💜

What's new

Built-in VPN

• Protect your playback with a VPN inside the app. Import a WireGuard or OpenVPN profile from your provider in Settings → VPN
• Choose how much it protects: Off, HTTP streams only, HTTP + HTTPS streams, or the Full app
• One choice for every Nuvio profile, or a separate one for just the profile you're on
• Your VPN profiles come with your setup when you sync to another TV, and are encrypted on the device

Sports

• Sports addons are built in. If you have a sports addon like HighFly or StremVerse, its games are found automatically when you open a game:
  • Live streams show in the game's channel list, after your own channels
  • Replays & Highlights: finished games get a list of replays, highlights and recaps
  • Start times are read correctly from any time zone
• Your country's TV channels on every game. Outside the US, your own country's channels come first, and the channel airing the game at its start time is picked first
• Fix Channel has a link for each network, and Your Channel Links lists everything you've set. Games with a link skip the guide search
• Choose Leagues bar on All Events to turn leagues on and off
• Team pages have a Players list and player profiles

Live TV

• Backup channels button on the info bar: other copies of the channel you're watching, hidden ones included. Copies match even when the name has a sound layout like 5.1
• Bigger poster on the info bar, and the info bar looks the same while you flip channels
• Stream format (TS / HLS) now works for M3U link playlists too, including Dispatcharr
• In the guide, holding Left steps back through earlier shows twice as fast

Setup Sync

• The account sync card is now Setup Sync, and you can choose what to sync

Settings

• On Demand has its own section, and Live TV, On Demand, Sports, Calendar and VPN are grouped together below Playback

• Option to release the video decoder when the app goes to the background

Fixed

• Channels you hadn't placed (hidden when you reordered) stay beside their neighbours instead of dropping to the bottom of the group
• Sports no longer fills the memory on small boxes
• On a game page, the Channels from button can be reached from the first channel and the game card
• Calendar: holding Up or Down in List view moves at a steady pace, and boxes on the West Coast show the right local airing time
• On Demand: adult titles no longer appear in Continue watching
• Trakt keeps the right episode numbers on long-running shows
• Back after skipping to the next episode no longer returns to a stale source list
• Back leaves the profile PIN screen
• Fix for the loading screen when an episode auto-plays
