Caution

READ THIS BEFORE UPDATING

This is not an update to the plugin you already have. It is a new plugin that replaces it.

1. Check your Homebridge and Node versions first

You need Homebridge 2 and Node.js 24.5.0 or newer. On anything older this plugin simply will
not start.

2. Your current cameras and sensors will not carry over

The new plugin creates its own accessories in the Home app. The ones you have now stay behind as
"not responding" and you delete them yourself.

3. You will have to redo your rooms, names and automations

Once. Any automation using a eufy camera, sensor, lock or light will need to be pointed at the new
accessory. Take a screenshot of your automations before you start.

4. Your existing eufy settings are not reused

You set the plugin up again from scratch: log in, and configure it in the Homebridge UI.

5. Back up before you touch anything

In the Homebridge UI: Backup / Restore → Download Backup.

6. If your home depends on this working, wait a little

Version 4.7.2 still works today and is not going anywhere. Try this beta somewhere a camera going
dark is annoying rather than a problem.

But read the next point before deciding to stay on it.

7. Version 4.x is no longer being worked on

All maintenance from here goes to 5.x only. No fixes, no new devices, no eufy changes followed on
4.x — it is frozen at 4.7.2 and stays installable, nothing more. If eufy changes something on their
side that breaks 4.x, it will not be repaired.

So staying on 4.x is fine for now, and it is not a long-term plan.

New

  • The Setup Assistant previews live video as HomeKit receives it, and live video settings can be set per camera (#1197).

Fixed

  • The classic Wi-Fi smart lock can be locked and unlocked from HomeKit.
  • Lock results from a lock are read correctly when the lock pads its answer.
  • Live view on cameras that use an unencrypted connection starts and stops correctly.
  • A live view shared by several viewers starts at the next full picture instead of a broken one.
  • A live view that fails now says why in diagnostics.
  • Keypad battery and charging are shown correctly.
  • Notifications no longer replay old events after the notification service reconnects.
  • The SoloCam E30 (T8171) no longer shows a spotlight it does not have.
  • Doorbells are recognised from eufy's own list of doorbell models.
  • AI detection settings sent in a newer format are read.
  • A diagnostics file now records the size of a live video that failed its quality check (#1193).
  • A talkback that fails because the live view never got video no longer suggests Smaller live video packets (#1215).
  • A smart lock now leaves its status codes in a diagnostics file, so a lock that relocks itself can be traced (#1216).
  • A station whose key does not match no longer makes the eufy connection show as degraded at startup.
  • Several Setup Assistant display fixes (#1195, #1196, #1198).

New devices

  • Video Smart Lock (T8530): lock, unlock, status and its camera.
  • Standalone SmartDrop: open the lid.
  • Siren on six more camera models behind a HomeBase S1 Pro.
  • Night vision on the T8442.
  • eufy PoE cameras (T8N00) and independent views on NVR cameras.

Under the hood

  • Updates the eufy library to 0.5.0-beta.92 (#1214).
  • Internal clean-up with no change in behaviour (#1200 to #1210).
