v1.0.6: PS5 upload replaces files correctly

latest release: v1.0.7

The zip below is everything needed to build the game from your own disc: the build scripts, the SDK patches, the function hints and the host application. As always, it holds no game code, assets or keys; the build takes those from your own copy of Midnight Club: Los Angeles Complete Edition (USA/Europe, Xbox 360) on your machine.

PS5 build: the upload failed with "eboot.bin is 88167404 bytes on the console, 85554228"

What was wrong. Some consoles' FTP servers write over an existing file without cutting it short. When the new eboot.bin was smaller than the one already on the console, the console's copy kept its old size and the old file's tail, make_ps5.sh stopped on the size check, and the title on the console was left broken (it crashes as soon as it starts).

The fix. Before uploading a file that is already on the console with a different size, make_ps5.sh now deletes the console's copy, then uploads. It only deletes the file it is about to replace. If the delete does not work (for example while the game is running), it stops and says so.

How far it has been checked. Against a local FTP server set up to overwrite without truncating: the previous script fails with exactly the reported message; this one leaves a file identical to the new one. Not yet run against the FTP server of the console where it was reported.

If you hit this

Update (git pull, or unpack the zip over your copy), close the game on the console, and run the same command again:

bash ps5/make_ps5.sh --console <console address>

Only the title is uploaded again; game data already on the console is kept. If the game still crashes after that, fetch /data/mcla/mcla-play.log over FTP before starting it again and attach it to an issue with your console model and firmware.

Nothing changed for Windows or Linux in this release.
