v1.0.5: PC build unpacks Clang on Windows 10

The zip below is everything needed to build the game from your own disc: the build scripts, the SDK patches, the function hints and the host application. As always, it holds no game code, assets or keys; the build takes those from your own copy of Midnight Club: Los Angeles Complete Edition (USA/Europe, Xbox 360) on your machine.

PC build: step 1 stopped after downloading Clang on Windows 10 (#10)

What was wrong. Step 1 of make_pc.ps1 downloads the project's Clang as a .tar.xz archive and unpacks it with Windows' own tar.exe. The tar.exe in Windows 10 cannot read .xz archives, so it stopped with Can't initialize filter; unable to run program "xz -d -qq". Windows 11's can, which is why this did not show up before.

The fix. When tar.exe cannot unpack the archive, the script now unpacks it with Python, which the build already requires. Windows 11 is unaffected.

How far it has been checked. On Windows 11 under Windows PowerShell 5.1, with a stand-in tar.exe that fails exactly as Windows 10's does: Python unpacked the real Clang 20.1.8 archive in under a minute, and the unpacked compiler runs. Not run on Windows 10 itself.

If you already unpacked Clang by hand (for example with 7-Zip into tools\clang+llvm-20.1.8-x86_64-pc-windows-msvc), nothing changes for you: step 1 finds it and moves on.

Getting it

Update (git pull, or unpack the zip over your copy) and run the same command again:

.\scripts\make_pc.ps1 -Iso C:\path\to\your.iso

Nothing changed for PS5 or Linux in this release.
