8.2.1 (2026-11-08)

  • New feature: TLS certificate verification for each controller. If you've installed a trusted certificate on your console, turn on certificate verification in that controller's connection settings in the webUI, and HBUP will require a certificate that verifies on every connection it makes to the controller, livestreams and two-way audio included. If one doesn't verify, the log tells you why and how to fix it. Verification is off by default, which is what a console using the self-signed certificate it ships with needs, and streams read directly over RTSP aren't verified. Livestreams and two-way audio now also connect through your console at the address you've configured, port included, so they work wherever that address does.
  • Improvement: a live view whose livestream doesn't start in time now ends promptly and cleanly, rather than leaving HomeKit waiting until it gives up.
  • Improvement: the controller CPU temperature sensor now reports whole degrees, so HomeKit isn't updated several times a minute over a tenth of a degree. MQTT still carries the full-precision reading.
  • Fix: a HomeKit Secure Video recording request that arrives while a camera's timeshift buffer is still starting is now declined right away, rather than held open until the livestream finishes starting...the buffer carries on starting for the events that follow.
  • Fix: the settings webUI offers the ambient light, leak sensor, and vape detection options only on sensors that have that hardware.
  • Housekeeping.
