Mario Kart Wii VR Port 0.6.0
This release makes the first-person cockpit adapt to every driver and vehicle and substantially improves tracked steering.
Vehicle controls
- An optional setting uses and animates the original steering wheel or motorcycle handlebar.
- Karts and motorcycles have separate control geometry and grab areas based on their actual size and placement.
- One- and two-hand steering transitions preserve the current turn without jumps.
- Common movement of both arms no longer causes unwanted steering.
- Adaptive filtering reduces controller tremor while retaining fast response at common headset refresh rates.
- Broad gestures, centre crossings, and brief tracking loss no longer detach a held control.
First-person scale and comfort
- The cockpit uses the evaluated eye position of the selected character and vehicle.
- Tall drivers receive an adaptive world scale, while small drivers retain their correct seating position.
- Lightning scales the viewpoint, vehicle controls, and interaction radius together.
- Changing camera while shrunk no longer corrupts the neutral seating calibration.
- Impact rotation is stabilised while the camera continues to follow the kart's simulated position.
Tracked hands
- Hands now use the scene depth buffer and are occluded by the kart and track geometry.
- The depth comparison follows the game's active depth direction to prevent inverted occlusion.
- Meta OpenXR hand meshes remain supported with articulated glove fallback.
Distribution
The portable archive contains the English v0.6.0 installer and the integrated Wheel Wizard launcher. Setup asks for the user's own clean PAL RMCP01 disc image and compiles Mario Kart Wii VR and, by default, the latest Retro Rewind pack locally.
The release contains no Nintendo code, translated game executable, game assets, or ROM data.
