In this alpha release of Hedera Services 0.27, we are happy to announce support of both HIP-423 (Long Term Scheduled Transactions) and the first phase of HIP-406 (Staking).
Our initial release of scheduled transactions in 0.13 allowed users to do asynchronous signing of transactions requiring multi-party signatures. But all signatures had to be collected within 30 minutes; contract operations could not be scheduled; and there was no way to delay a transaction once it had collected all required signatures. HIP-423 resolves all these limitations. Users will now be able to schedule a larger set of operations, including contract operations; and their execution may be deferred for up to a year.
Native staking will deploy in several phases. The first phase in release 0.27 will allow users to stake their hbar to a node. When the staking reward account 0.0.800
is sufficiently funded, and when the total hbar staked to a node exceeds the minStake
threshold, users will receive staking rewards for each full day they stake, as a side-effect of any transaction that changes their balance. (The values for the threshold 0.0.800
balance and minStake
are still under review by the council.)
Please see the linked HIPs for more details.
