Highlights

  • Raw block device support
    • Now raw block devices will be used by default, which greatly improves the VM boot-up time and IO performance.
  • VM Live Migration
    • Users can now migrate one VM from one node to another node without downtime.
  • VM backup/restore
    • Users can now backup/restore VMs to an S3 or NFS server outside of the cluster, after setting up the backup target. DOC
  • PXE support 
    • Users can now easily install Harvester on any node that supports PXE boot, with existing PXE server support. DOC
    • Users can also install Harvester in Equinix Metal, using iPXE support. DOC
  • Zero downtime upgrade
    • NOTE: Due to pending OS changes in the roadmap, the upgradability to the GA release cannot be guaranteed at this moment.
  • Per node NIC configuration
    • Users can now specify different NICs per node for VLAN configuration.
  • Install Rancher with Harvester
    • Rancher now ships with Harvester, providing Kubernetes management support on top of Harvester. DOC
  • Provision Kubernetes cluster using Harvester and Rancher
    • Users can now use the built-in Rancher to provision new Kubernetes clusters on top of the Harvester cluster. DOC
  • Support bundle
    • Support bundle will help the developers to troubleshooting issues in the users' environment.
