Changelog Version 1.7
Added
- Pad skins: pad art now lives in
Assets/Pads/<skin>/; any folder with all
seven images becomes a switchable skin, including ones dropped in next to
the exe after install. - Sound effects: Navigate/Select/Move/Remove blips, a volume setting
(0–100%, steps of 15), and an on/off switch. - Window transparency setting (20–100%, steps of 15).
- Settings screen rebuilt as a categorised, scrollable list (Appearance,
Audio, Library, Controls, Button bindings, System); values are colour-coded
(green On / red Off) and editable with Left/Right as well as Confirm. - Window fade in/out on show/hide; screens cross-fade on navigation.
- Selected pad/tile: soft blue-toned glow with a small one-shot "tap" landing
animation, replacing the old thin red/blue outline. settings_tile.pngsupport for the Settings panel background.- UI font switched to a bundled
.ttf/.otfwhen present (prefers real SFNT
over web-font formats).
Removed
- Custom tags (the + tile that captured whatever the game wrote to the
Center pad as a.binunderCustomBins/). It depended on the listener
either answeringGET_TAG(0x05) or streaming the tag back out to a file
path inLOAD; against the target emulator build neither happens, so the
app could never read the written bytes back, and the feature has been taken
out entirely.
Fixed
- App-wide input lag and stutter: two assets (wordmark, scroll bar) were being
bicubic-resampled from full size on every frame; both now cache like every
other asset. Controller polling moved offWM_TIMER(lowest priority,
shared withWM_PAINT) onto a paced posted message. - App freeze when no emulator/listener is running: every socket
connect()
was unbounded and could block the UI thread for 2+ seconds per attempt
(measured on this machine); all three call sites now use a 250ms bounded
connect. - Roster grid: the character/vehicle separator's extra spacing could push the
last visible row off the bottom of the window on a scrolled page; the
compact-layout fallback now applies to any page, not just an unscrolled one. - Move-source pad highlight was rendering orange instead of blue (byte-order
mistake in the color constant) and was too faint to read. - Sound volume / window transparency sliders had their Left/Right directions
inverted. Assets/Pads/Old(and any skin folder sharing a name with the legacy
top-levelAssets/Olddump) was being silently excluded from the pad-skin
list.
Changed
- Toypad LED mirroring now defaults to Off (was On).
- Background choices reordered: default wallpaper, then Clear (was last),
then the rest.
