[v1.9.0] - 2026-09-30
Why Upgrade
- Use the app in seven languages, including Danish, French, Spanish, and Japanese.
- Close What’s New directly and see the current release highlights.
- Transfer a text-document copy to a nearby device through an explicit pairing and consent flow.
Highlights
- Adds Danish, French, Spanish, and Japanese app localization alongside English, German, and Simplified Chinese, including Settings, editor actions, accessibility text, and companion surfaces.
- Adds opt-in nearby text-document transfer with an ephemeral pairing code, encrypted transport, receiver consent, a 4 MB payload limit, and independently staged received copies.
Fixes
-
Adds a visible Close control to What’s New, preserves Escape dismissal, and refreshes its latest release card during release preparation (#659).
-
Expands localization coverage for dynamic search, toolbar, Git status, and share-import messages.
-
Processes macOS terminal output as a bounded primary screen, preserving fragmented UTF-8, progress-line rewrites, cursor movement, erase commands, and text styles while publishing coalesced changed-text patches.
Breaking changes
- None.
Migration
- No document migration is required. Nearby transfers create independent copies rather than synchronizing documents. Physical-device transfer acceptance remains tracked in #164; terminal, UI-test, and profiling acceptance remains tracked in #318.
Maintenance
- Keeps the Help-sheet release cards aligned with the changelog during release preparation.
