[v1.8.6] - 2026-09-27
Why Upgrade
- Edit unusually long generated lines on iPhone and iPad without changing the saved text.
- Work with Markdown source and rendered preview side by side again.
- Rearrange macOS document tabs without opening the dragged document first.
Highlights
- Restores side-by-side Markdown editing and preview as the default; full-window reading remains a Settings option.
Fixes
-
Keeps pathological single-line files editable on iPhone and iPad with display-only segmented wrapping, including when No Wrap is selected. The saved text and copied selections retain their original bytes; ordinary formatted documents retain their chosen layout (#595).
-
Keeps the Markdown formatting toolbar with the editor instead of overlaying full-window reading.
-
Defers macOS document-tab activation until a click completes, allowing a drag to start without switching editors; accepts reorder drops across tab gaps and strip edges (#632). Native macOS window tabs remain a separate, future change (#621).
Breaking changes
- None.
Migration
- No document migration is required. Full-window Markdown reading remains available in Settings.
Maintenance
- Advances the development build to 1061; release preparation allocates the final build from the live Xcode Cloud counter.
