[v1.8.5] - 2026-09-26
Why Upgrade
- Choose whether Markdown opens for editing or full-window reading, and switch modes from the toolbar or keyboard.
- Arrange preferred iPhone and iPad toolbar actions and use configured app shortcuts while the editor has hardware-keyboard focus.
- Navigate line and document boundaries with standard Command-arrow keys on macOS.
Highlights
- Adds a default Markdown opening mode for editing or full-window reading, with toolbar or Command-Shift-P switching (#617).
Fixes
- Makes configured app shortcuts available while the mobile editor has hardware-keyboard focus; restores the documented Save As, Line Wrap, and Language Search keys, reserves editor-owned editing keys, resolves a macOS shortcut collision, and removes duplicate mobile Settings and Help bindings.
- Fixes the custom iPhone and iPad toolbar icon limit so it matches the selected action count, and lets users reorder their chosen icons (#615).
- Restores the standard macOS Command-arrow and Command-Shift-arrow navigation for line and document boundaries (#622).
Breaking changes
- None.
Migration
- No document migration is required. Large single-line Unicode JSON responsiveness on iPhone and iPad remains tracked in #595; native macOS tab behavior remains tracked in #621.
Maintenance
- Advances the 1.8.5 development build to 1058; release preparation allocates the final build from the live Xcode Cloud counter.
